Wife and I were here for 2 nights in June.||||Most good hotels were booked during our weekend road trip to Nafplio. We found this hotel without any reviews anywhere. After some research on their official website, we decided to roll the dice and stay here for 2 nights.||||The hotel was easy to find with plenty of free parking at the port's parking lot. Our check in process was efficient and wonderful. the lady was friendly and knowledgeable. ||||Our room matched the description on their website to the T. What a wonderful surprise. Right when you walk in there is a hand sanitizer pump mounted on the wall by the door. The interior design of our room named Mona Liza was luxurious and beautiful. I wanted to know where they purchased that modern chandelier. The lighting in the room was top notch along with a super comfortable sofa and bed. Right away we felt pampered. WiFi worked perfectly through out our stay. The little balcony was a nice touch where we spent some afternoon reading and drinking coffee.||||The Large HDTV was great since UEFA 2020 was on during our stay. Our bathroom was also clean and comfortable. I do think the toiletries should match the luxury feel they were going for. Instead they were just these un-labled all black pumps mounted on the wall like the Marriott Aloft Hotels. We couldn't tell what is what. I think one is body-wash/shampoo the other is conditioner. With the luxury feel the hotel is going for, I'd suggest separated toiletries with body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower cap, cotton swap from a good brand like Molton Brown/ Aveda/ Fresh/ Bliss/ Oscar de la Renta/ Le Labo/ MALIN+GOETZ/ Salvatore Ferragamo...etc. This is our only gripe with the hotel if we have to nip pick something.||||Breakfast was delicious at the restaurant onsite. I find it a bit odd that Greek Coffee or Fredo Cappucino was not made onsite but delivered from Rebelo, but hey it works. From the hotel we were able to visit everything Nafplio by walking. The supermarket is a bit walk at the other end of town by the Trendy Grill Strip. But Antica Gelateria di Roma was right around the corner!||||Overall we had 2 wonderful nights here and we will...
Read moreI would definitely recommend Espero Royal Stay. I visited recently in Sept. 2022. It's a great, small hotel right over a very nice restaurant that is part of the property. The staff is extremely helpful at all times, fluent in English, and very welcoming. The room is very modern and the bed very comfortable (which is often not the case in Greek hotels; Greek hotel beds have a reputation of being very hard). The location is perfect, very close to the water and in the center of old-town Nafplio, surrounded by the local sights. The old town area is small, so everything in the old town is either next to the hotel or very close. The breakfast was included, and it was great as well, offering a lot of different options. And having tried out the restaurants in the area, I can say that the one associated with the hotel is one of the best in Nafplio, and they gave us a 10% discount because we were staying at the hotel. My wife and I stayed four nights here; we'd certainly go again or recommend this to anyone who wants to visit Nafplio; the prices are very reasonable as well. Nafplio is a lovely little town to visit, and you can use it as a base to visit nearby important sites like Mycenae and Epidavros, and don't miss nearby...
Read moreCute boutique hotel, great location and helpful staff. Breakfast nice but basic. The breakfast area/ restaurant is now a burger/taco/crepes type of place, nice and cute, but has nothing to do with the pictures shown on the net. The breakfast is offered there, courtesy of the hotel, but based on what I had seen on the net, was expecting something nicer.
The room we had, top floor, nice, but no windows... which is not ideal...if you like a sense of what is around you or natural light. It comes with its own balcony with a private jacuzzi (which may be fun), across the hall but still... tiring and dull to stay in, hang out in your room, despite that it is cosy and spacious.
Cleanliness could be improved, as we found old papers and stuff in the drawers. Many details in the room needs to be fixed, but not significant problems. The whole thing is a bit "tired"...would greatly benefit from a "facial"! ESPECIALLY for the price asked!
Also... please remove the fish tank.... Not pretty, makes noise, broken... not a great detail!
Would stay again, but NOT the top floor. Great location, overall a nice experience, not as nice as expected though BASED on pictures of hotel that are posted...
