While eating a waiter dropped a tray full of other peoples' finished food on me and my friends - human error, not mad about that. The waiter apologized, but my pasta was ruined and full of trash and other food. I had taken 6-7 bites, which they saw and offered to remake half of my meal. After a few tries they agreed to give me a new meal (whole portion, comes with cheese to sprinkle on pasta). New pasta came without the cheese, after reminding the waiter about it, he gave me my cheese after i had already eaten (20+ minutes) and laughed about that. One of my friends' shrimps were inedible - shell couldn't be taken off. After asking for a manager, who was avoiding us the whole night, he came and asked what's wrong. We had asked for a 10-20% discount (less than our drinks were), because 3/4 peoples' clothes were ruined, my phone was drenched in sauce and my friend ate 2 shrimps for 12€. Without hesitation he started screaming, said that he will do the same for us when he comes to our country, did not listen to anything we had to say, did not let us say a word and kept on screaming for a few minutes after finally telling us that we don't have to pay and should leave. We offered to pay 80% of our bill (bill was 50€) but he said we were spoiled, that Greeks eat their food and always love it. Food was pretty good (except for the shrimp), but the management was terrible. I recommend avoiding this place, lots of other restaurants around, feel sorry for the staff who have to work for a disrespectful and incompetent...
Read moreThis felt like a tourist trap to me. The quality of the food was very poor. It tasted like they had really used some of the cheapest ingredients. It looked great from the outside as it was busy and had a nice atmosphere. The service was also very friendly. However the food was the real problem.
We had a dakos salad which was a very generous portion and looked pretty. However the feta tasted like really cheap feta, the tomatoes weren’t great and the rusks were overly soft as though the salad had been pre prepared.
We also had a ‘lemon and oregano’ pork. It was shockingly bad, I didn’t want to eat it. The sauce was almost black and tasted bitter and the pork was tough. There didn’t seem to be much love in the food. The fried zuchinni was fine but nothing special.
If you’re looking for great Greek food made with good ingredients then I would not recommend this restaurant. Again I find myself perplexed by the huge number of reviews and very high score this restaurant has received - it absolutely does not match my experience and I believe this is a growing issue across reviews on...
Read moreAn authentic dining experience in a beautiful coastal town of Nafplio. To Teloneio met all of our expectations. Greeted by a welcoming staff who clearly enjoys what he does to create a good dining experience for the diners.
Ordered fried zucchini (didn't expect zucchini to taste that good when fried), orange salad (generous portion of greens, with raisins, croutons, sesame seeds and of course orange!), oven-baked fish (nicely cooked and still juicy) and apaki (well seasoned grilled pork, advised to pair with something else if you do not have a liking for strong tasting food). For beverage, we ordered a Greek beer (zeos). To end off the meal, the staff offered complimentary dessert, a mini ice-cream stick (like magnum) for each person (clearly a delight to my children, and for the adults as well on a hot...
