Poor experience with front desk staff. A reservation was made with understanding based on research that hotel accommodated pets, as shown on screen grab of Google maps among other sites.
We were allowed to check in with dog visible upon entry, as well as left and returned to hotel several times with dog in tow. When leaving for an evening meal front desk stopped and advised the dog was not allowed in hotel. The staff refused to review our reservation receipts or online hotel info that clearly stated pets were allowed.
While, these types of over sites by an establishment can happen, the staff refused to assist in any way, refund our room and going as far as definitely insisting the hotel would not refund us or our credit card company no matter what. He also refused to allow us back to room to collect our belongings with animal in tow.
This was all while we remained calm, understanding and attempting to find a resolution, including refunding our stay and parting amicably. The staff was not hostile or angry thankfully, preventing an escalation. He was completely unwilling to assist or compromise in any way in light of the facts being presented to him showing that information was misrepresented about the hotel. It became clear, his concern was ensuring we understood the hotel was not pet friendly, with the websites speaking to this referring to the public area in front of hotel(um, ooookay) and that we would not be...
Read moreVisited today and waited five minutes for any sort of acknowledgment. Then the member of staff finished laying her table before coming to take our order. We asked for an Americano and a large Greek coffee and were brought an Americano and a filter coffee. Again we tried to attract attention to rectify this and in the end had to go and speak to a member of the waiting staff. No apology was offered. The Americano was indifferent, although the long awaited Greek coffee was ok. The floor around our seating area was littered with discarded napkins.|When the time came to settle up we were yet again unable to attract anyone's eye, and eventually had to go into the cafe building where two members of staff talked to each other the whole time we were paying.|None of the staff were friendly, welcoming or, as evident from our experience, efficient. Maybe they were resentful at having to work on Easter Sunday.|My one star is for the palatial and beautifully kept toilets and the friendly cleaner whose lovely smile will be my only pleasant memory from the whole...
Read moreExcellent hotel with amazing view, perfectly located and very helpful staff. This is the ideal hotel for a visit to nafplio. It is right by the water and just at the edge of town center. The view from our room of the port was amazing (rented the attic suite). The included breakfast is very nice with lots of options. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and are great at helping you navigate the city.
There is no parking at the hotel, or any private parking in the city, so you will need to find one yourself. There is small area just in front of the hotel to unload. Parking can be daunting! There are several lots, but the big ones just by the port will be your best bet. Be patient and drive around. Parking is a ritual in the city so try to see it as part of getting to know the local customs! People are courteous so as long as you are being nice you won't be getting into any arguments. On busy night like weekends, be prepared for a long walk back to the hotel!
Highly recommend this hotel if you are...
