Nayplio is well known for two things (well three, but sadly the third is not on offer any more): ice cream and fried dough (kind of like donuts without the hole in the middle, AKA Loukouma in local dialect). ... And this place is the king of the latter. Actually, not the king, but God of Loukouma. If you ever visit Nayplio, this place is an absolute must on your to-do list. I could go on and describe the place, its tables, its sweets, it's decoration, the way its location obscures and somewhat downplays its quality; none of these matter. Just try it and you will never look another way. P.s. by the way, if you still wonder what the third thing was: Ekmek. Simply The best...

Highly recommend for loukoumades. Our credentials? My family of Greek ancestory became a little obsessed with finding loukoumades that lived up to some we had over 10 years ago. We’ve tried them all throughout Australia and now Greece. At Pergamonti we tried the traditional loukoumades (with honey, cinnamon and walnuts) and were thrilled to discover they were the best we’ve ever had. 5 stars from us. Best dessert in Nafplio. The owners are lovely, the Lady is so funny and full of life. We tried 3 types of desserts. The chocolat salami was good, the yogurt with pergamonto was a delight to taste and the loukoumades was just heavenly... Amazing blend of chocolat, loukoumades (their speciality) and a mouth watering ice cream.. Finally the price was very good, a very good value for money. A definate must visit dessert...
