Matas House — Hotel in Municipality of Sithonia

Beautiful place.

Superb location, quiet neighbourhood a minute walk from the main street, beach, mini markets, bakeries and the best artisan ice cream in Greece and possibly entire world (Anatoli).

Lots of parking space. You can park in front of the house, you can park behind the house, literally next to your door, whatever room you're staying at.

The garden is lovely, there are trees and flowers and the kids adore it, there are swings and see-saws and they can play hide and seek all day long.

What I especially liked about the apartment was the kitchen. It is huge and if you love cooking there's everything you need, even a huge oven (which I fully utilized to make as many as three pizzas during our 2-week stay!).

The host family are really nice and helpful, and they let you do your own thing when it comes to cleaning, which we appreciate very much.

Speaking of cleanliness, my wife and I are very particular about it, and we usually clean and disinfect rooms everywhere we stay. This time, there was no need to do that. The place was pristine when we arrived.

I can't think of any downsides. Maybe a power outlet in the bathroom? But it's really not a big deal.

We stayed in the studio because there was nothing else available, but it turned out to be a great choice. The room was exactly like in the pictures—clean, cozy, and nicely decorated. When we arrived, kind Maria welcomed us with a jar of honey and a small bottle of olive oil. We later bought 15 liters of that same delicious oil at the farmers market—it's locally produced in Nikiti! The house is charming, and the terraces are shaded—perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. The kitchen has everything you need, and the bed sheets were changed every 4–5 days.There is one studio, and all others are apartments with bedroom. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach, markets, and bakery. The internet worked perfectly—we had no issues streaming YouTube or playing games. Parking is free, available right in front of the house, and some spots are shaded.

We have just returned from vacation to share our impressions of the accommodation. Although nicely equipped, their accommodation has several serious drawbacks. First, the air conditioner in the apartment is faulty, it works but does not cool because there is no freon. There was no water for 3 or 4 days when we came back from the beach, to be precise the water pressure was so weak that it was impossible to use the shower. You only have internet listed in the accommodation ad, in reality it is unusable except between 2 am and 6 am. One more thing to mention, the bunk beds in the kitchen are non-standard, 180 cm long, so anyone with slightly older children will have a problem...
