A Fairy Tale stay at Santorini. A perfect location, having uninterrupted view of the sea. Although there are few more hotels between this hotel and the sea but the town is located on a hill, hotels are situated at different levels and the view from any sea view hotel is not interrupted. In Santorini, you need to walk to your hotels on steps leading to your hotel as Taxi transport is not allowed to reach near most of the hotels. However the hotel was not very far off from the taxi drop point and the hotel staff reach up to the taxi to take your luggage down. Nearly each room has its own balcony and a central terrace to enjoy good buffet breakfast with sea view. Rooms are very spacious, comfy beds with suitable sitting arrangement in the room. Cleanliness level was good. Excellent free WiFi. Hot water in taps all the time. The hotel is located right near the most wide road of the shopping area having many restaurants and shopping places. Bus stand and Taxi stand are at a comfortable walking distance. Everyone told me to stay at OIA in Santorini but I opted to stay at this hotel in FIRA. I opted to stay at FIRA because i wanted to stay near the transport and activity hub and I give myself 100 percent marks for my decision. OIA is marketing itself to claim as the best place to witness the most beautiful sunset in the sea. However I studied the layout of the Island very carefully before make choice of the hotel in Santorini. Santorini Island is a moon shaped Island with FIRA in the center and OIA at one tip of the Island. Both these placed are looking at the same spot in the sea and the same sunset view. Hence I enjoyed the most beautiful sunset of Santorini from the baloney of my room at this hotel. You will find very good ice cream, food places, restaurants, shopping places and night life all nearby. But dont underestimate the beautiful morning view from the hotel Terrace.
Disliked · The money safe in my room to place valuables was out of order. I understand that the hotel is on a cliff and there are deferent levels in the hotel but I never expected to have bathroom a step down. This can lead to some unexpected injury at night while going to bathroom. I...
Read moreUpdate: I wanted to come and add an update now that I have some clarification. I was informed by Bookings.com that this property will not provide a refund due to my initial review. The bookings agent told me the owner was very harsh on the phone. Clearly if I didn’t left a review documenting my experience they would refund me. I know lots of companies don’t like honest reviews because they want five stars which is awful. Please read my review below and let me know what parts of it was bad. This was a honest review. If a property that I’m supposed to check in with isn’t responding to email, calls or text for months it’s only right to think it’s a scam. I still stand by what I said below. I was scammed in a state of emergency.
I booked a stay at this property but was unable to go due to the state of emergency caused by earthquakes. I reached out to the property on February 7th to check on the situation and have not received any response. My stay was scheduled for February 21-24, and despite multiple calls and emails—both from me and Booking.com—I have heard nothing back.
At this point, I believe this property is a scam. It’s unacceptable that after prior communication before February 7th, they have completely ignored all attempts to reach them. Be cautious when booking here. Even my airline, which also had to cancel my flight due to the earthquakes, handled the situation properly—unlike this property.
I really believe we...
Read moreI can't say enough positive things about the Delion View Hotel! I was recently there for 2 weeks during the off season and it was perfect. Donna and her staff are so attentive I felt like a family friend rather than a guest. The location in Thira has an amazing view of the caldera and is also conveniently located within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. The rooms are authentic to the area and are diligently maintained. The first morning I got there, a tray with a huge amount of food was delivered to my room for breakfast. For my remaining stay I chose to serve myself from the generous morning buffet and ate either in the dining area or outside on the deck while watching the sunrise. I spent almost every spare minute on that deck gazing off into the distance while listening to music, doing my crossword puzzles, and (of course) imbibing in local wine and beer (also available for purchase there). Finally, Donna helped make all of the reservations for my excursions including arranging for transports when necessary (she also sent her assistant with me to the transport meeting spot so I didn't even have to worry about that)! All in all, I would highly recommend the Delion View Hotel for your stay in Santorini. My only regrets are that I had to return home and that I can only give...
