2.5 stars. Let me start this by saying the restaurant didn’t do anything WRONG. The service was impeccable, and the views were stunning. We were recommended this place by our hotel staff and everyone we told we were eating at this restaurant had nothing but great things to say, so standards were set pretty high. We arrived early for our reservation and they still were nice enough to sit us at a table with a great view. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. My husband ordered the Smoking Petals and thought it was delicious, whilst I ordered a glass of Prosecco. A member of the staff came by and suggested a local sparkling wine instead and it was a great switch! As the night progressed, it became cooler outside and the server was kind enough to offer me a blanket they keep for customers! I’ve never had that offered to me at any restaurant before. Now on to the food… The food by no means was horrible, it was just lackluster. We ordered the calamari, which was plated beautifully. The fennel foam was overpowering the rest of the dish, and I was surprised to hear the calamari had harissa sauce in it as there was zero spice or flavor of it. The calamari itself was luke warm and not to preference to my husband or I. The texture was gummy and rather unappealing. We did split the steak and french fries for dinner, and the french fries were the best thing we ate! They were no ordinary french fry, but layers of potato pressed together and fried to a perfect crisp. The steak itself was okay, nothing to complain about besides the average-ness of the steak compared to the price of it. I have made $20 steaks at home that tasted better. The green sauce served with it did not seem to complement the flavor of the steak, and in total, we paid over €300 for an all-in-all forgettable meal.
I would 10/10 suggest this place for its a service and cocktails, but we were hungry, and the food did not meet the expectations for this...

Read morePretty average and overpriced restaurant in the old town of Thira, we were left disappointed. We made the booking while on our anniversary trip to Santorini. We visited plenty of restaurants on the island before this one and all of them had amazing service and great food. Kaliya has the caldera views, but this is nothing extremely special here on the island. For the sunset you also need to be placed by a particular table, otherwise you will not have the sunset view (it is obstructed by the restaurant called “Lounge” in front). Our anniversary wasn’t even mentioned (let alone freebies, nobody even offered anything special for us to order - not sure why they ask if you’re celebrating anything if they’re not gonna do anything with this info). The food came cold. Portions were small (around half of what you normally get here in Santorini). The service was ok up to the point when they started asking in full volume how much tip we would like to leave them and then repeating the tip amount (again full volume) so everybody around could hear. Not very professional. Prices of wine per glass massively exaggerated - you can get a full bottle for this amount in a vineyard 5 km further. Definitely didn’t make it to our top...
