Markakis Studios Fira — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

The place is clean but could be updated. The self-standing cupboard had missing handles. The lighting isn't great. There is a kitchen with 2 burners, a kettle, a sandwich toaster, cupboards, a small fridge and a few utensils. We made a few simple meals there since the restaurants are quite expensive and the menus at every restaurant are exactly the same. The girls at the reception desk were very helpful and gave us a lot of information about available activities. One very good point is that the hotel is on a quiet side road so there is no noise at night. Our last night we stayed at another hotel on the main road and it was very noisy. A word of warning, don't buy from the minimarket at the top of the side road, we noticed that they turn off the cooling system in the fridges where the cold products are kept. I really enjoyed my stay. The room was cleaned every day and sheets changed out daily also. ||The shower curtain in our room was too short so that there was a water issue every time we took a shower. ||I had asked for three beds but upon arrival was told they were not available so one of us ended up sleeping on a couch. ||The sunrise from our balcony was gorgeous, just an uphill walk to the buses and the middle of Farrah, extremely quiet until our last couple of nights. A new arrival was outside after 11:30 pm yelling during her Skype call. There is no staff to cut that off so I went out and confronted the woman myself to ask her to please go inside. ||Disappointed that nobody at the hotel cut off her actions. We are from London. Stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. The location is perfect. Near to bus station that Goes to Oia,Kamari,Parissa,Oia,airport,Imerovigli and other places reachable by bus. Fira town centre in just a 5 minutes away where you will find shops, restaurants, bars and clubs. The hotel is very clean and provide housekeeping service if you ask for it due to covid situation. Otherwise, pre covid you need not to ask for housekeeping. We cooked the breakfast and lunch mostly in the apartment. The receptionist is very helpful and prompt.
