Boho Hotel – Small Luxury Hotel of Budapest: warm, stylish, and attentive — but not ideal for light sleepers
Let’s start from the beginning. The guest welcome was 100 out of 10 — truly one of the best in my experience. And I say that as someone who travels a lot and stays in hotels often. The receptionist was absolutely lovely: warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. She asked how I got there, if it was my first time in Budapest, and gave thoughtful tips on what to explore. You could feel she really loves what she does — and it set a beautiful tone for the stay.
📍 Location
The hotel isn’t in the exact center, so it takes about 20 minutes to walk to most major sights. But if you don’t mind walking or using public transport or a taxi, it’s no problem at all. The area is calm and has a nice selection of cafés and restaurants nearby.
🛎️ Service
When I mentioned at reception that I had trouble sleeping due to hallway noise, they responded right away and offered to move me to another room. Unfortunately, the second room had the same issue — the building itself seems to lack proper soundproofing. As a kind gesture, they also offered me a complimentary breakfast, which I really appreciated. You can feel that the staff genuinely cares about your experience — and that’s rare, even in many 5-star properties. It’s not just formal politeness — it’s real attentiveness.
🛏 The Room
The room was modern, clean, and well thought out. Spacious bathroom. What really stood out to me was that they included not just the usual shower gel and shampoo, but also a shaving kit and toothbrush set — things that even many luxury hotels often skip. There was also a mini-bar, which was a nice bonus and made the stay more comfortable. Overall, the room had more thoughtful amenities than many 5-star hotels I’ve stayed in.
Slippers weren’t in the room, but were brought right away after I asked. There was also a coffee machine, though personally I didn’t love the taste of the pods — just a small note for improvement.
🌿 Common Areas
There’s no traditional lobby space where you can sit for a long time, but there is a lovely inner courtyard where you can relax or wait for a taxi. It adds a calm and cozy vibe to the experience.
🔇 Soundproofing — 1 out of 10
Sadly, this was the main issue for me. Both rooms I stayed in had very poor sound insulation. From early morning (around 7am), I could hear doors slamming, hallway noise, and cleaning staff moving around. Sometimes, the vibrations even made my door shake, which made it feel like someone was trying to enter. If you’re a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, this could seriously impact your rest.
✨ Final Thoughts
Boho Hotel is a beautifully run property with warm service and thoughtful details. They responded to every request quickly and kindly, and many small touches — like complimentary items and the general atmosphere — made the stay feel genuinely caring and personal.
Unfortunately, due to the soundproofing issue, I wouldn’t be able to return. But if you’re someone who sleeps easily or isn’t sensitive to sound, I would absolutely recommend this hotel. You’ll feel welcomed, supported, and well...
Read moreAn amazing place, extended my vacation in budapest partly due to this great hotel
Service: as great as the hotel was the #1 thing is the wonderfull people there, from the reception staff to the bar\dining room and the housekeeping you are greeted with genuine smiles and kindness and a desire to make your stay as great as they can.
Rooms: i really liked the decor and the way the rooms came together. my friend complained about the hotel lighting(in rooms and in general) and i see some people in the comments did too, i get their opinion but personally i liked it.
Dining\bar: the dining room is very nice and well decorated, you also have 2 nice looking small gardens where you can eat\just sit down to relax. The bar is very classy and the various cocktails i tried were really good and well made. They have nice small menu, i mostly dined outside but when i did get dinner there it was great Breakfast was the star of the show, a wonderful fresh buffet with anything you may want, on vacations i try to eat breakfast in as many different cafes as i can and still i could not resist eating breakfast in the hotel many times.
Activities: There is an underground room that is very comfortable&cozy and has many sofas and armchairs alongside a really nice billiard table, i didn't know about it until my last few days in the hotel and ever since i found it i went there every day. The spa is great, it features a very large marble built hot tub which is really enjoyable, some nice sunbeds to relax on, and a sauna. I got a amassage on my last day and it was a great experience too. Im not a gym rat but the gym is lacking, they should add both better lighting and a multi trainer.
Location: great location, just outside the hotel you have a beautifull little square bustling with life but not too noisy, you have plenty of resteraunts, bars and cafes in very light walking distance(and more beyond it, i heavily recommend a small(very small, but magical) place called aranypinty for breakfast), attractions are also not lacking and you are close to the national museum and the main street
All in all a wonderful place, despite my love of variety in vacations i will definetly go back there if&when i visit...
Read moreOne of the best hotels I have stayed so far. Honestly I don’t know where to start, service was incredible, staff were lovely and friendly. Very nice welcoming, with a glass of frizzante offered and a cupcake with a candle in the room for the birthday celebration. The room is spacious and comfortable, with everything you need provided. (Robes, sliders, change of towels everyday on a daily basis, shaving kit, vanity kit etc..) The facility is 5 stars and the service really elevates the atmosphere. There is always staff greeting you and acknowledging you.
We paid 20€ per room daily for the SPA facility, which we LOVED. Jacuzzi & sauna + beds to relax. In the SPA again- towels + water provided at all times. It is very relaxing and definitely worth it.
They have a games room, with a pool table, PlayStation 5 you can book and use free of charge, plenty of sofas and room for small and big groups of people.
They have a gym which we didn’t use, but it looked clean and had good quality machines.
Inside the hotel, there are outside areas, which are very well taken off and very clean.
There are restaurants & shops 1/2 min walking from the hotel & a bar inside the hotel.
The quality of the hotel truly stood out for us & we really appreciate all staff members and their hospitality. They really go the extra mile for all customers.
Breakfast was incredible, we were obsessed with it. Very worth it!!
We would definitely come back if we had the chance! Thank...
