smashy burger | budapest — Restaurant in Budapest

Had to see what the hype was about, so I visited the restaurant today. I arrived at 11 AM and since that’s their opening hour, there was only 1 person in front of me but they were already preparing the online orders so the restaurant is as busy as they say.

I asked the cashier about the menu which he explained in detail. He was professional and super friendly which is a huge plus for me. I was able to give him a tip with the touchscreen next to the register which I believe is a great feature as I like to tip for a great service.

To my surprise, my order was ready right away – it was even quicker than the biggest fast food restaurants – but the food was fresh (I ordered it to go and it was still warm when I got home).

The one negative thing I can say about the ordering process in person is that the cashier cannot add the extra sauce to my order. The customers have to grab a small plastic container from the counter and ask the cooks to add the sauce to it which I think is a bit inconvenient. I was caught off guard by the quickness of the order (which is not a bad thing, and again, really impressive) so I completely forgot about the sauce.

As for the meal, I ordered their House Cheeseburger and French fries. The burger was quite nice but it could’ve used a bit more salt (and the fries a bit less). Also, the cheese wasn’t the tastiest and the patty was a bit small but still, a pretty decent burger. The fries were slim but they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, so they were quite good.

Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the service but the burger is quite average so if you’re looking for a great culinary experience, this might not be the best place but if you’re downtown and looking for a quick bite, Smashy is the...

We came here on the first night that we were in Budapest just because we wanted something quick & easy to eat before going out to some bars & exploring the city at night My mates were so impressed that we ended up coming back again later on in the week to grab some extremely quick burgers

When I say quick, cheap & easy... that's honestly an understatement! Smashy serve the literal fastest fast food that I've ever had in my 29 years of being on this planet 😱 Before I'd even managed to pay by card after placing my order, the member of staff already had my burger & fries in a bag & was handing it to me! I was honestly so impressed at how rapid we got our food!

The food itself isn't anything to write home about, but what can you expect for around €6 for a burger and fries?? The burger was good nonetheless, but don't expect anything fancy; it's just a barebones smash burger with sauce, cheese & pickles - i believe they only have 2 options for the burgers The fries were above average

This really is fast food at its best. Delicious tasting cheeseburgers. They only do two burgers, which are Classic and House. I can recommend House. I didn't try Classic, but I expect it will also be good, I think only the sauce is different. The French Fries are sprinkled with a delicious paprika-based chip spice. Good quality ingredients. Service is very quick. Young and friendly staff. They sell a lot, so the food is very fresh but is not made to order. The place is very small and the menu is very simple, which means they can sell very good food at a very good price. The only other things on the Menu are water and Coca Cola. There is a very limited number of standing spaces, where you can eat your food from a shelf opposite the serving counter. Expect to wait outside in a cordoned queue, but the queue does move quickly.
