AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE A PLAGUE! when I booked the hotel through Booking.com, I tried to contact the hotel several time to get some information that I needed, I never got a response and I contacted Booking.com. They informed me I can add breakfast on the day of arrival. I arrived in the evening, firstly in the dark it was not easy to find the hotel as there were not any lights nor was the hotel sign lit. Secondly, I asked the reception to include Breakfast and he told me at the moment they do not serve Breakfast, which was disappointing as they told Booking.com it is available. Next, I asked for a room on the high floor with a nice view, (I know this is subject to availability) I got a room on the high floor facing a brick wall, which fair enough this is what they had, but I was not expecting what was to come next. I opened the wardrobe and saw some clothes and sheets on the floor, the toilet was not cleaned, the one side table was taken out, the carpet had not been vacuumed for a long time, tv channels did not work, room had a cabinet but no fridge. So, I went downstairs and asked for another room, the receptionist only had I single room available, I got it as I had no choice. Then I got another surprise the room as well was not vacuumed, the fridge had not been cleaned for a very long time had a horrible smell, no remote control for the TV and lastly the door did not lock. I stayed one night as it was late and I did not have a choice, I slept with the window open to get the fridge smell out, did not even want to have a shower as I was discussed, and slept only for 3 hours as heard banging sounds in the hall and as my door did not lock, I was not feeling safe. Next morning, I informed them that I will be checking out, I told the receptionist I heard a banging sound in the hall, and he told me I should have called reception, I told him there was no phone in the room to call reception and he told me I should have called from my mobile. Which is ridiculous! I asked to speak to the manager he said he was running late, and he would inform them to get in contact with me about my stay and my refunded. Never got a call back and had to call Booking.com 4 times to solve my issue. The manager did not want to give me a refund and after explaining several times what I went through then he processed the refund. They made me go to the hotel again to get my refund as they did not want to pay it in my account, the receptionist was rude not even apology. Please avoid this hotel. It...
Read moreTerrible Experience – Worst Hotel Stay Ever
I regret choosing this hotel for my stay. It has easily been the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Here’s why: Limited Breakfast Options: The breakfast was extremely limited, with barely any variety or quality. Definitely not worth the price. Dirty Rooms: The rooms were far from clean upon arrival, and it seems cleanliness is not a priority here. No Housekeeping Service: Despite staying multiple nights, the housekeepers didn’t bother to come and clean the room or replace essentials. Completely unacceptable.
This hotel seriously needs to improve its services to even meet the basic standards of hospitality. I would not recommend it to anyone and won’t be coming back. EDIT: TO THE OWNER WHO RESPONDED TO ME Interesting response. Instead of addressing the actual issues raised in my review, you chose to question whether I even stayed at your hotel. That level of denial and lack of accountability speaks volumes about your professionalism. Perhaps focusing on improving your service would be a better use of your time than attempting to discredit legitimate feedback. But hey, if this is how you handle criticism, it explains a lot and by the way my name Is Kalofolias...
Read moreWe initially booked to stay in the Gold Hotel itself until the staff recommended the apartments might be better suited to us since we were travelling with our 3 young children. I'm pleased we went for this option as the space was much more comfortable for us. Everything is a little old and dated but clean and tidy so not a problem. We had 2 bedrooms, bathroom and a small kitchen area with a dining table. We used 2 of the hotel's travel cots for our 16 month old twins and also had a large double buggy with us, but even with these inside, there was still so much space. It was also handy to have a fridge to keep a few snacks, milk etc for the kids. Breakfast at the hotel was fine but a little lacking on the hot options; there were scrambled eggs and sausages but these were empty nearly every time we went up each day. The location of the hotel is good, a 10 or 15 minute walk to the river. We used buses or taxis on the way back as the hill was difficult with a double buggy. The reception lady who helped us most days with recommendations and guidance for transport etc was brilliant; so friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed...
