Over more than a decade I have been regular customers to Oxigen. It is expensive but the great service.Today, however it was my last day. After yet another great session (that started a bit late as I arrived a few minutes past the start time due to traffic), I went back to my car parked in the last level of the garage not far from the car wash. When I got to the car I saw a sticker in Hungarian, and though it had to do with the car wash given the proximity. Started to move the car and found that there were some unexpected speed bumps that I could not see. Stopped and went to check to realise a band with a locker had been attached to the front left tyre! To resolve I had to go to the reception, pay 10000 HUF in order for my car to be released!! Went to the reception and was told I should have read a banner at the reception and the website both in Hungarianabout the car park rules! I replied I was unaware, that a warning (the very first in a decade, ever) would have suffix and that my car could not be hijacked!! That it was a police matter! I was offered to wait for the site manager. The site manager arrived in 10 minutes and introduced himself politely as the Oxigen Managing Director. When I shared my views, he replied less politely “either you pay the 10000 HUF or your car is not going anywhere - you can call the Police, this is Private and we make the Rules. It is the same everywhere else in the world like Wien and the money goes to some children!!” I have lived in 3 continents and 5 countries and was never aware of similar rules. Rules that are not easy to access and, as you can see below, are used arbitrarily when and how someone dictates! To conclude, I did pay 10000 HUF, the car wash man removed the locker, I asked my wife to ask for a refund for the remaining services in the voucher (that she kept gifting me with 3, 4 times a year). The refund of 62000 HUF was, very exceptionally, granted by the local management!
So, I could: have been more careful parking the car have received a warning have been told there was an internal programme to raise funds for Children of… collected from the ones who infringe the Club rules (and I would have probably contributed with more) have been treated respectfully as a decade older customer who never had one single problem
Instead: "our rules, you have no say, pay to have your car" wasted an hour of my precious time got 62000 HUF back and paid 10000 HUF lost a long-standing great experience with Oxigen will become a detractor for Oxigen with anyone I know
"Common sense is not so common," as Voltaire said
PS: as I was curious I went to check the Car Parking policy which is online in Hungarian. After searching for 10000 I found something applicable:
“If your vehicle extends beyond the designated parking space (Vehicles must be parked in such a way that they only occupy the parking space delimited by the painted pavement markings), Oxygen Naphegy is entitled to issue a warning (with a sticker affixed to the vehicle's windshield) AND THEN lock the vehicle, the unlocking fee of which is 10,000, i.e. ten thousand forints per day.”
In my case everything was done more diligently “…is entitled to issue a warning (with a sticker affixed to the vehicle's windshield) AND, AT THE SAME TIME, lock...
Read moreMy review is about an employee and her behavior today. I was using the treadmill in my flat sandals - as I’m traveling from Portugal I didn’t have normal training shoes with me. I’d like to point out that no one communicated that I can’t use the machines without proper training shoes.
This personal trainer lady walks up to me at the moment when I’m on a business phone call and talks very aggressively right away that I MUST get off the treadmill right now. I told her alright I’ll talk to her in a second just let me finish my phone call. But she insisted that I come off the machine IMMEDIATELY which resulted in me - not only being disturbed in an important call but - feeling very dizzy when stepping off the machine. I told her I’m not feeling well and she should give me a minute. She simply didn’t back off.
At this point my boyfriend asked her to give me a minute and I sat down on the machine cause I literally almost fainted. I still felt like the machine was moving under me cause she get me off the machine too quickly. She kept talking with an intense voice and she simply wanted to remove me from the whole area - which was unnecessary.
I understand that the gym cannot take responsibility if any weight, falling on my feet etc - but she didn’t need to attack me like that. She was absolutely unprofessional.
Otherwise I love the spa and the whole concept - but the level of aggressiveness I was approached with today is...
Read moreWhile the day pass is expensive as others have mentioned, it does give you access to all of their amenities so if you plan on spending a majority of the day there working out at the gym, followed by a good lap swim session and then relaxing at the sauna/jacuzzi, then the price is worth it. Towels are provided and you can swap them out anytime.
The gym has all the equipment you need and also offers workout classes. The treadmills have a great view of the park.
The wellness area has plenty of saunas to keep you occupied. There is also a section in the back of the larger sauna area that offers the option for textile free. The textile free area has a small Finnish sauna, larger color therapy sauna, steam room, and small infrared sauna.
There aren’t any water refill stations though so bring your own water.
Overall, it’s an enjoyable facility to relax and get some...
