The Citadella viewpoint atop Gellért Hill has been closed for over three years due to extensive renovations. While it's unfortunate that this iconic spot has been inaccessible, the ongoing restoration promises a remarkable transformation.
The renovation, part of the National Hauszmann Program, aims to enhance the Citadella's historical and cultural significance. Plans include expanding green spaces by 50%, creating a new 6,000-square-meter public park within the fortress walls, and introducing sustainable features like rainwater harvesting systems and green roofs.
