This is cheap sure but they provide you a lacking sense of even basic hospitality. Leaving me disappointed and very likely to avoid it like fire in any future stays in Budapest.||||Firstly, my friends and I planned a staggered stay (they would arrive earlier, I would arrive later), so we booked for the 4 bed dorm in 2 days advance. When my friends arrived they messed up the booking and forced them into the 8 bed dorm. This followed the same pattern when I arrived. They just didn't believe me that I had booked in advance and said I had to use the 8 bed dorm too. They offered a small miniscule discount.||||Secondly, my arrival at the hostel was greeted by a no answer at the door. The hostel is part of an apartment building so you need a code to enter or them to come down and let you in. Now if you just arrive, tired from walking with your bags, well past the check-in start time, a major failure in a hostel is not being available to check-in your customers when they arrive in the expected allotted time. Luckily my friends were able to let me in but this is not professional. On another day 4 other unexpecting hostellers came and we had to let them in and wait for one of the hosts to come back from wherever they went.||||Thirdly, I sent an email saying that I needed to check-in but I still have had no reply throughout the day of check-in. So if I wasn't with friend who had already checked-in then I would have been stranded outside on the streets waiting for them to return.||||They don't give information or tips and are not friendly.||||Essential Tip: toilet tissue is hidden behind a shower curtain in the bathroom.||||All the dorms share one toilet, one bathroom (includes a toilet and shower and bath) and one shower. So expect delays in the morning.||||The only good things would be the location and the wifi...
Read moreYes, it is a cheap hostel. ||Good things first: good location, good wifi, cheap. ||Bad things: rooms are not very clean, lockers are small (you cant put fit you luggage anywhere), bathrooms are dirty. Kitchen is very small, behind a refigerator is a reception desk (not 24h). ||||When I arrived, there was another traveller who arrived same time as me. Hostel was full. He said (and showed) that he had a reservation made via some internet site. Receptionist answered that sometimes hostel get overbooked and there is nothing they can do.||||One day receptionist asked me if I knew which beds are free in my room. He said he needed to fit 3 more persons that day but doesn't know what beds to make. I started to wonder do they wash the sheets after every visitor... Same night when I arrived back to hostel, there was extra matress in the middle of the floor (somebody had to stay there). ||||When I cheked out and asked for my deposit, there was another receptionist. She admitted that she had no idea how much my deposit was. I told her that I paid 3000HUF, and I got my money back.||||I do not reccomend this place. Or if you really need a cheap place to stay for one night, then I...
Read moreFirstly this hostel is very hard to find as the location is very hidden. This may have been made more difficult as the hostels name is not actually guru hostel and when called the receptionist at the time refused to give instructions on how to locate the hostel as he was too focused on telling us we had no booking (which we did as we booked this hostel 11 months in advance) after subsequently finding the hostel we were told to call the manager as the receptionist had no clue and he informed us that they had double booked us and we could not stay and would have to find another hostel at 10pm. We were obviously not happy about this as it was the time of the festival and all nearby hostels were...
