Unfortunately not so nice experience. On their website it is written you can have lactose-free, gluten-free breakfast upon request but when I specifically asked it in email after the reservation they just told it is not possible. They didn't answer my further questions about any vegetarian option nor the dinner place either (fixed menu or buffet table) so I had to ask it again when I arrived. Upon arrival they asked the full amount already to be paid in advance. The room was average, with some broken and fixed furniture, curtains which let the light in already at 6 am and windows without mosquito net. Wifi sometimes disappeared. The breakfast was ok and the soup lunch too, vegetables and fruits available at least. The dinner was at another restaurant some walk away from the hotel which was a terrible place: poor service, quality of food as in the 90's, not even water included in the menu so had to pay for it separately. Only plus for the hotel is the 2 free tickets to the Hévíz lake for 3 hours each. They didn't even ask anything at the reception when I left, at least out of politeness they could ask the guests whether everything...
Read moreIf you come by car: first thing is to buy a parking ticket. No free parking around the hotel. Friendly people at he reception. We were presented a three-bed room with French balconies. It could be changed for a two bed-room with an real outside balcony with chairs, table and a beautiful view over the town and mountains at the horizon.||Ideal central place to walk to the lake, restaurants, shops and market. Also good startingpoint for trips to things around Heviz. Breakfast: enough choice. Dinnertickets for suggested restaurant ( Liget Etterem ) : cheap alternative, not advisable. If you enter Liget as normal visitor, the treatment is different. There are enough nice places to eat nearby. Evening : only the Vinoteka&Winebar Heviz is open in town till late. Many things close at 22.00. Nice beach in Balatongyörok.||Special lunch: shop in a Tesco ( nice rolls, Hungarian cheese, meat, drinks ) and look for a picknickspot in the country. Quiet all around you. Try to arrange a visit to the palinka-distillery in Cserzegtomaj (...
Read moreI originally booked this hotel via Booking.com and there was an issue, the Hotel Parks staff sorted this out for me, my wife and our two dogs arrived (we stayed in a pet friendly room no 24) the greeting we got on arrival was great, there is no lift so think about staying on the first floor.||||The rooms have been recently been made lovely and well dressed. The bathroom was spectacular modern and easy to use.||||The Breakfast was terrific, and you can sit outside if the weather permits. ||||The hotel is in a perfect place for the Themal Baths with two massage shops directly opposite the hotel. The hotel is not easy for people who are disabled as it's above street and has no lift.||||There is a nice sun garden overlooked by rooms with balconies ( these I was told are as yet not modernised) some rooms have great air con, others I am told do...
