Want to start with saying a BIG thank you to lovely Sanitha and her colleagues and Anil the fantastic driver at the property, for helping me have the best stay possible, not only at the hotel but in Kerala in general!
(Read this long review especially if you’re not a local tourist like me, Tissa’s staff were super helpful with helping me to organize my trip in Kerala!!)
Firstly the lovely little hotel has a great location, it is right next to majority of the sightseeing locations in Fort Kochi! Many little shops & restaurants around, like the shawarma place and dessert spot next to the hotel!!(very tasty food!) However you definitely need to eat at the hotels restaurant!! What a meal, the chef is a master!! The Beef fry was the best I’ve had in Kerala and everything else was very tasty!
I have to say the interior of the place is lovely, gives of a museum vibe with all the amazing furniture and art work, with a strong colonial style! Rooms are spacious, comfy and spotless! Lovely area on the rooftop with a small but nice & clean pool, which u can use at night!
Now about the fantastic service. Wow I was so impressed! I asked Sanitha at the front desk for some help with suggesting a few places to visit in Kerala. Sanitha came up with a whole plan for me, spanning almost 800km right until my departure city. She contacted all the hotels, reserved my night stays, organized a driver who was by my side throughout my 8 day trip around Kerala! She was so swift and eager to help! Thanks to Sanitha, I had the best trip with the most amazing Anil, the driver with whom I saw some of the best things Kerala has to offer!
Anil a 5 star driver who was careful, cautious about my safety and insuring we were at the right place at the right time. Smooth road trip with amazing views and great food, thanks to his exceptional knowledge of the area and service.
Overall, the service is simply great, it would not have been the same without you guys!!!!
Atmosphere is so comforting, felt like I was at home!
Tissas Inn for me is one of, if not the best places I stayed at during my trip to India! 100% value for the price but more importantly for the amazing service and a great stay.
I will remember this place, thank you for an amazing...
Read moreFrom arrival to departure- everything was perfect. We stayed for 3 nights and wish we'd stayed more. The hotel is well located for amenities and also the main areas of interest to visit. The food is exceptional and breakfast is varied slightly every day which is great. Coffee is brilliant! The rooms and facilities were spacious and had everything one could need. The highlight for us was the incredible standard of service from all staff. My husband and I have collectively travelled the world extensively- we both agreed the service at Tissas Inn was the BEST level of hospitality we have ever experienced. Sanitha could literally run the world she is that organised. Her and the team pre-empt everything their guests could want and have it ready BEFORE they even ask. I don't know the lady who did the housekeeping/cleanings name but she worked tirelessly to keep the rooms and shared areas/whole place absolutely immaculate. I myself am a completely over the top cleaner in my own home - but the level of clean here is the superior level. We felt safe, cared for and truly welcome. This is honestly a true gem of a place and if you are in the area of Kochi you must visit. We will be back! Thank you Tissas Inn- its been two days only since we checked out and we already miss you all! Recommendations (based on our taste and experience): Masala omelette for breakfast and toast - sets you up for the whole day. Dinner- the trio of fish and butter chicken are delicious. Rainy days- still great to sit on the sun loungers by the pool which are covered to have a nice day reading. Get a massage at their local spa- the team will arrange a tuk tuk for you to get there and back (short journey). It was an incredible massage there and reasonably priced. Get up early and watch the sun come up with a cup of tea. The hotel doesn't serve alcohol and as guests we respect that. There is a nice place a few doors down called Mai House Heritage Hotel which serves drinks should you...
Read moreOne common comment I heard from many locals in Ernakulam was that they've never heard of Tissa's Inn. By which they are presumably saying that this is an average place and we have made a mistake booking this place. Our taxi driver took the longest to get to this place and at one point, stopped at an eerily weird place and said we've arrived. I was done at this point and vowed never to come back to this place. Only to have them change my mind in the next couple of days..
Tissa's Inn is not a magical place... They are just your normal Inn that has a beautiful aesthetic built to it.. The antiques, crafts, wood works all are well placed and quite beautiful... What though stands out impeccable is their service! Not just an average customer service my people it is personal! So personal that you feel like an Emperor during your stay there! Like organising the main meal of a buffet breakfast to suit your personal preference! Or going out of their way to make sure you are having a comfortable stay.. Of course there are many more hotels and resorts in Kochi that boasts about amazing locations and comfortable stays but you are often just one among the many customers they've at their hotel. Tissa's Inn is the place to go if you are new to Kochi and wish to experience what a real Malayalee customer service looks like... Would definitely return to...
