Rajhu is the warmest host, unobtrusive, attentive and friendly. We stayed one night before we did the camel Safari of the desert cow guest house (which was an unforgettable experience!). When we came back in the morning after the Safari, we were not just allowed to leave our luggage there for free to spend more time in the city, but Rajhu EVEN left us a room for free until night (our train left after might night) to take a shower, relax, use the toilet, everything! We were completely overwhelmed by this generosity! Also good view...
Read moreDesert cow guesthouse and safari was such a highlight of our month in India. We received all the service and excellence of a five-star hotel - spotless rooms with walls of stone, large bathrooms, and staff that went out of their way to ensure we felt like the hotel was our home. There is an excellent rooftop restaurant that overlooks the Fort. Raj can give you precise directions to any location in town or arrange for the not-to-be-missed Camel safari. There is a charming arts gallery in the basement. Everywhere we went in town when people asked us where we were staying, mention of the Desert cow always drew approving nods: "Yes, they're good." We would return to this...
Read moreI stayed 7 days in the Desert Cow. It is run by members of the Trotters Camel Safari team in the middle of the city who are all very helpful and welcoming. It's located less than 10 minutes walk from the fort entrance which makes it really ideal when sightseeing around the city such as the fort, sunset point and the lake. Price for the seven days was a bargain for people travelling on a budget too. Really cosy stay, clean bathroom and brilliant view of the fort from the rooftop. Also had the chance to sleep up top with the staff members to take in the sky at night! Fun place to stay in Jaisalmer! Will be...
