TL;DR Version JS Luwansa Hotel is a solid upscale business hotel with great amenities, including an infinity pool, a spacious gym, and a large breakfast selection. The staff were friendly, and the room was excellent, offering both comfort and great photo opportunities. However, the gym's AC could use some improvement, and the single restroom near the pool, gym, and bar was a bit odd. Despite minor flaws, this hotel provides a great stay for business or leisure, and I'd highly recommend it.

The JS Luwansa Hotel is an impressive option for anyone visiting the Kuningan business district, offering a balance of convenience, luxury, and comfort. Situated just 6 km from the National Monument and National Museum, the hotel is perfectly located for both business and leisure travelers. It’s an upscale establishment with well-appointed rooms, a range of excellent amenities, and a staff that delivers friendly, professional service throughout your stay.
The modern rooms are equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay, including free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and safety deposit boxes. The room itself was fantastic, providing a perfect blend of style and functionality, and a great spot for photos with its elegant design. The views from the hotel, especially from the infinity pool, were stunning, offering a great backdrop for relaxation or unwinding after a busy day.
Speaking of the pool, it’s a real highlight, with panoramic city views that make swimming a pleasant experience. The fitness center is spacious and offers a decent selection of equipment, although I did notice the AC was a bit lacking, which can make workouts less comfortable during hotter days. Additionally, the water dispenser in the gym was giving out lukewarm water, which was a minor inconvenience, especially after a good workout.
One peculiar design choice was the restroom near the pool, gym, and bar area. With all those amenities in one place, it felt odd that there was only one toilet and one urinal. While it wasn’t a dealbreaker, it was a strange oversight in an otherwise well-thought-out space.
On a positive note, the hotel’s staff stood out for their attentiveness and professionalism. They were personable and always available to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was another highlight, with a large selection of both local and international items. The quality and quantity struck a good balance, and I particularly enjoyed the chocolate croissants and pork shumai—both standout items.
All in all, I had a great stay at JS Luwansa Hotel. It offers an excellent mix of business-focused amenities and leisure comfort, and the location is perfect for those needing access to both the business district and cultural landmarks. Minor improvements could be made to the gym and restroom facilities, but these are small issues in the grand scheme. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jakarta for business...

Read moreMy wife and I did 7 days of quarentine in the JS Luwansa as we choose this hotel for the pictures (very old and not matching real life) and reviews. We had the worst experience of our lives and I will like to share so people doesn’t have to go though the same horrible experience.
Rooms: The rooms are very old, not as big as in the pictures. The paper on the walls is falling apart as you can see in the pictures and the toilet specially is full of mold. (Shown in the pictures below) further more we found cockroaches in the room and after calling the reception a guy came to fumigate.. yes fumigate the room with us inside during the quarentine…
Also the Ethernet port didn’t work and 1 of the plugs didn’t work.
Food: We found worms in the food and mold in the cheese (see pictures) and the food was horrible, this happened 5 times since we where there. We request for the manager to come to see us in the room however he never came in the whole 7 dys. Instead 2 staff came to apologize that didn’t speak any English at all (actually no one that we have seen speaks English at all) We both got food poisoning for the whole duration of our stay. How can a hotel with 4 stars have such a low level of food safety?
Staff: The staff didn’t speak English and apparently where use to the low level of cleanliness and food safety as they only apologize but didn’t propose any solutions. We requested The manager to come to see us many times however apparently he was never present.I found this hard to believe.
We ask the reception on check out if there where aware of what we went through during our stay and they didn’t know and didn’t care. Just incredible!!
Plus, we Asked to have some arrangement in the room, because the quarantine was the first stop for our honeymoon, however there was nothing on our arrival… Since day one, it was...
