TL;DR Version JS Luwansa Hotel is a solid upscale business hotel with great amenities, including an infinity pool, a spacious gym, and a large breakfast selection. The staff were friendly, and the room was excellent, offering both comfort and great photo opportunities. However, the gym's AC could use some improvement, and the single restroom near the pool, gym, and bar was a bit odd. Despite minor flaws, this hotel provides a great stay for business or leisure, and I'd highly recommend it.

Full Review

The JS Luwansa Hotel is an impressive option for anyone visiting the Kuningan business district, offering a balance of convenience, luxury, and comfort. Situated just 6 km from the National Monument and National Museum, the hotel is perfectly located for both business and leisure travelers. It’s an upscale establishment with well-appointed rooms, a range of excellent amenities, and a staff that delivers friendly, professional service throughout your stay.

The modern rooms are equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay, including free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and safety deposit boxes. The room itself was fantastic, providing a perfect blend of style and functionality, and a great spot for photos with its elegant design. The views from the hotel, especially from the infinity pool, were stunning, offering a great backdrop for relaxation or unwinding after a busy day.

Speaking of the pool, it’s a real highlight, with panoramic city views that make swimming a pleasant experience. The fitness center is spacious and offers a decent selection of equipment, although I did notice the AC was a bit lacking, which can make workouts less comfortable during hotter days. Additionally, the water dispenser in the gym was giving out lukewarm water, which was a minor inconvenience, especially after a good workout.

One peculiar design choice was the restroom near the pool, gym, and bar area. With all those amenities in one place, it felt odd that there was only one toilet and one urinal. While it wasn’t a dealbreaker, it was a strange oversight in an otherwise well-thought-out space.

On a positive note, the hotel’s staff stood out for their attentiveness and professionalism. They were personable and always available to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was another highlight, with a large selection of both local and international items. The quality and quantity struck a good balance, and I particularly enjoyed the chocolate croissants and pork shumai—both standout items.

All in all, I had a great stay at JS Luwansa Hotel. It offers an excellent mix of business-focused amenities and leisure comfort, and the location is perfect for those needing access to both the business district and cultural landmarks. Minor improvements could be made to the gym and restroom facilities, but these are small issues in the grand scheme. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jakarta for business...

To the Management of JS Luwansa Hotel Jakarta,

I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional experience I had during my stay at your hotel. It is evident that service excellence is not just a slogan here—it is a living culture practiced by every member of the team.

From the moment I arrived, every staff member welcomed me with a genuine smile, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

I was particularly impressed by how staff consistently took the initiative to assist and anticipate needs without being asked—an indicator of excellent training and service culture.

It’s clear that everyone is giving their best, across departments, to ensure guest satisfaction.

A special thanks to Pak GM Vivek Kumar, whose personal attention and offer to assist with anything I needed was truly extraordinary.

Pak Agus Dono, your Director of F&B, graciously accompanied me during breakfast on many occasions. I appreciated our conversations about service excellence—his passion and commitment are inspiring.

Pak Teguh, Pak Widi, and the rest of the management team have gone above and beyond to make me feel at home, with many thoughtful gestures and support.

I also want to commend Pak Heru from The Ambassador Lounge on the 20th floor, who handled a challenging guest situation with professionalism and grace.

Breakfast was consistently outstanding. Compliments to the Chef and his team, especially for remembering my preference for Eggs Benedict—those personal touches make a big difference.

The room was immaculate and incredibly comfortable, offering the perfect space to rest and recharge.

The swimming pool was fantastic, with the right pH balance and temperature—truly a relaxing experience.

The warm greetings at arrival and farewell left a lasting impression. It truly felt like home, and I will definitely return.

Thank you once again for your dedication and passion in delivering outstanding hospitality. Please extend my appreciation to the entire team.

Warm regards, Glen...

My wife and I did 7 days of quarentine in the JS Luwansa as we choose this hotel for the pictures (very old and not matching real life) and reviews. We had the worst experience of our lives and I will like to share so people doesn’t have to go though the same horrible experience.

Rooms: The rooms are very old, not as big as in the pictures. The paper on the walls is falling apart as you can see in the pictures and the toilet specially is full of mold. (Shown in the pictures below) further more we found cockroaches in the room and after calling the reception a guy came to fumigate.. yes fumigate the room with us inside during the quarentine…

Also the Ethernet port didn’t work and 1 of the plugs didn’t work.

Food: We found worms in the food and mold in the cheese (see pictures) and the food was horrible, this happened 5 times since we where there. We request for the manager to come to see us in the room however he never came in the whole 7 dys. Instead 2 staff came to apologize that didn’t speak any English at all (actually no one that we have seen speaks English at all) We both got food poisoning for the whole duration of our stay. How can a hotel with 4 stars have such a low level of food safety?

Staff: The staff didn’t speak English and apparently where use to the low level of cleanliness and food safety as they only apologize but didn’t propose any solutions. We requested The manager to come to see us many times however apparently he was never present.I found this hard to believe.

We ask the reception on check out if there where aware of what we went through during our stay and they didn’t know and didn’t care. Just incredible!!

Plus, we Asked to have some arrangement in the room, because the quarantine was the first stop for our honeymoon, however there was nothing on our arrival… Since day one, it was...

I had a chance to stay overnight at this hotel. I had been here for various occasions. The check-in and check-out process were smooth and hence quickly. The lobby itself was big enough but not grande in style. I had a deluxe room on the 17th floor with a view toward Rasuna Said busy street and had a wide and well-lit corridor. The room size was quite big, clean, and comfy. All amenities functioned well, including internet connection and hot water. There are two concerns about the room. The first one was the lighting, which was not as bright for the room that provided the desk and chair for working. This lighting discouraged guest to work in the room in the night. The second concern was the mineral water, which only provided two bottles, not four bottles like in any other hotels I had stayed. Was it because of the fasting month? I ordered fried cassava and lychee ice tea for an in-room late night snacking. The service was quick and prompt, including bringing me a bucket of ice when I asked for an additional ice. The cassava itself was just okay, not as crispy as I expected. I did not have a chance to taste more foods since it was a fasting month, and the hotel did not wake me up for sahur as promised. But, overall, it was an enjoyable stay. Please see videos and pictures of the room, corridor, and room view. The second time, I stayed overnight here, I experienced yet another enjoyable sleeping. This time, I had a chance to have dinner, breakfast, and lunch. In general, the foods were okay. Breakfast and lunch buffet offered a variety of food options. From the buffet, I liked laksa the most. The soup dishes were mostly better than others. For the a la carte dinner, the price was quite expensive.
