Beautiful little hotel in perfect location to shops, cafes, bars on main drag or walk down to cliff bars for sunset cocktail. Perfect for couples or business professionals (good wifi connection), only hour taxi to international terminal and great check-in/check-out time.
I spent two nights here solo and loved how peaceful and relaxing it was when you stepped off the main road and really enjoyed the staircase pool which allowed the option of reading a book in the shallows or swimming about at the deep end. The day beds were really comfortable too and it was great to be able to pop back to the balcony bar area for a bit of respite from the sun under the fans and order a drink/snack. It’s hot by 8am so you can easily slip in a tan before you get on with exploring. Most daybeds are taken up for the day after breakfast because it’s a lovely environment to hang out in but there’s always 1-2 spare.
The rooms are a good size, air-conditioned, have individual styles, and everything is tidy / clean / well maintained with filtered bottled water changed daily. They won’t hesitate to make the room up for you around early arvo if you put the sign out and replace towels etc if you need. Staff are friendly, well-organised, and everything seems to operate well. Expect to hear distant music late at night from the main street (same wherever you go if you’re not remote) and they’ve taken this into consideration with complimentary ear plugs in the bathrooms. I actually loved the fact there was no TV in the bedrooms and that they play well-chosen ambient background music from the patio.
They have the option of small varied breakfast menu or afternoon snacks and refreshments (coffee, non-alcoholic, cocktails etc).
Artisan cafe next door is excellent anytime of day food-wise. I also found a gem of a cafe (Jeffry Coffee Shop) half way to the Uluwatu Temple.
NB: The temple is only 5-min taxi ride away and would not advise trying to walk as no footpaths/very hilly and weaving vehicles. Woman wear a long skirt / sarong with scarf around the middle and tshirt/covered shoulders. Anyone can hire sarong/scarf at the venue if you don’t have right gear.
Spring Spa Uluwatu is just down the road too which I highly recommend for well-priced pamper.
My two nights has felt like a week, and I’m leaving super re-charged. Thank you Ria...

Ria Uluwatu certainly boasts a great location. Perched in a stunning spot, this boutique hotel is instaworthy, providing a picturesque backdrop. The staff also deserve commendation for their good service. They were consistently responsive and helpful throughout our stay.
However, our experience was significantly marred by what appeared to be poor management. We encountered an issue with the room (cottage 6), most notably the unsettling experience of termite falling from the roof. This raised serious concerns about the property's upkeep and the management's commitment to health and safety, which felt a bit questionable.
On a positive note, when we raised these issues, the staff were proactive in assisting us to rebook another place and promptly refunded our money. This demonstrated their dedication to guest satisfaction, a stark contrast to the apparent lack of preventative maintenance from the management.
In conclusion, while Ria Uluwatu offers a fantastic setting and a helpful team, the significant room problems and the apparent lack of proactive management regarding health and safety are serious drawbacks. Please note the staff mentioned this issue had appeared for the first time and was specific to our room only.
Potential guests should weigh the stunning location and attentive staff against the potential for any room issues and ensure it complies with health and safety issues.
