Mimpi Bungalow — Hotel in Kuta

The premises are conveniently located down a quiet / safe alley off Poppies Lane 1. Close to the beach, shopping, restuarants and convenience stores. Its a challenge to find 2 bedroom hotels with children for around $100 AUD around Kuta but Mimpi does just that. I would recommend you go directly to the four storey building at the back of the hotel as the ground level rooms look less appealing. We stayed on Level 3 which is the Kejutaan Suite and was suprised by the spacious and clean area. There is two bedrooms , two bathrooms , a kitchen which has a large fridge and a great balcony to view the treetops from . The safety railings in true Bali style are not that high ( maybe 1m ) so if you have young kids this is likley not suitable. Our 7 and 9 yr olds did fine.There is a lift in which the inner safety door is left open so a slight risk there too. We took the stairs for exercise. The breakfast is very humble so we out out to eat . Youll find Bamboo Restuarant close and cheap. Or theTree House at the end of the laneway. Mimpi Staff were always courteous and the driver that the hotel supplied , Gusti, was a very punctual , safe and cautious driver so we used him several times. The pool is lovely but cool due to its shaded aspect. Gardens nice. They also dont mind you leaving the aircon on while you are out so you get back to a chilled room ready to relax. I would be happy to pay more money for a better stocked kitchen ( no tea coffee facilities ) and better breakfast but will be back at the childrens request. Please give the resident Dalamtion dog a longer lead if possible. Great value for families so allow for what you get...

The hotel appearance was quite old, however the room was clean, and big enough. This is a simply budget hotel with limited choices for breakfast (toast & omelet only). In the middle of the building, there was a nice swimming pool, but water was a bit dirty. The garden around the swimming pool and in front of the first level rooms were too shrub, not maintain properly. You could see some squirel walk, and jump around the trees there every day.||The staffs were quite helpful, and responsive. First day I checked in, I realized the shower was broken, then I asked the staff to fix it in the next day morning. It was a fantastic stay we had in Mimpi Bungalows.||It has an awesome garden all the rooms look at with a nice swimming pool. Because the garden is so lush, you get privacy even on the ground floor rooms.||Breakfast is simple and yummy and the staff super friendly and helpful.
