This is the second time we've stayed at Anumana, and it is feeling like our second home. It's the perfect location for exploring the beautiful Ubud, there's an array of restaurants, cafes and warungs on your doorstep, and all the other amenities you could need in short walking distance (convenience store, supermarket, book shop, massages, little shops for clothes and souvenirs etc). The rooms at Anumana are great too, we stayed in a Lagoon Access room this time (had a room on the top floor previously). I would definitely recommend the lagoon access, it was such a nice convenience to be able to walk straight into the pool or use a lounger, and then straight back to your room to dry off without having to walk through corridors etc. The beds are so comfy, and the rooms are very spacious. We had an extra bed added to accommodate our 4 year old, and there was still enough room to comfortably move around and feel relaxed in the space. The restaurant has an amazing menu, and offer different entertainment on various nights of the week. I don't know if they are regularly scheduled, but while we were there on the Thursday night there was a traditional perfomance that was accompanied by a set menu, then on the Saturday night there was a Barong performance and a dance with fans that also came with a set menu (which was delicious), and finally on the Tuesday night there was a live music set with an acoustic guitar. The sound of these performances does travel a little bit to the rooms, but even with a room close to the front of the hotel it wasn't ever so loud that it disrupted sleep and it also didn't go too late. Since our last trip to Anumana, the restaurant menu has been updated and there are some huge improvements- definitely try the Sirloin steak. The included breakfast is also really nice, it is prepared a la carte rather than a buffet, which is great because you can go from something quite different each morning if you like. Eggs benedict, pancakes, french toast, porridge, breakfast burrito, scrambled eggs, tofu scramble, smashed avo, bakery basket... all great options, you can't go wrong.||A huge thank you to the wonderful staff at Anumana. While the hotel, rooms, and restaurant are lovely, the staff are why we will keep coming back. They are so thoughtful, helpful, friendly. They remembered all our names every day and made my son feel special at...
Read moreAmazing experience. Truly one of the most incredible hospitality experiences we have ever had and at such a reasonable price. I will certainly be back and could not recommend this place more highly.
Anumana is a hotel that will ensure you are taken care of during your time in Ubud. The location is surrounded by restaurants and shops and walking distance from anything you would want to see in downtown Ubud. The staff are incredibly friendly—our needs were anticipated, everyone was so knowledgeable, and all the staff from the cleaning crew to the front desk staff were so incredibly kind. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and everything is so clean. The hotel also has a lovely pool area with options for a floating breakfast! They also host evening shows and can organize activities and excursions for guests at really reasonable rates. The Monkey Forest is nearby so you even get to see the occasional stray monkey climbing around on the roof for added entertainment.
The restaurant as well is amazing—the breakfasts there are so lovely and the restaurant staff are as wonderful as the hotel staff. Anyone with a dietary restriction or allergy would be so safe with their staff— we notified the team of a very severe life threatening nut allergy, and they truly could not have been more careful. Their entire team knew of our allergy before we arrived and arranged separate silverware, took our orders in advance to prepare our food carefully, and were so knowledgeable about the ingredients and allergies! I truly feel they were even more careful than restaurants in the US would be. They even make their own gluten free bread in house!

Read moreAnumana Hotel Ubud benefits from it's perfect location: less than 5 minutes walk to Monkey Forest Ubud, and centered around Jl. Monkey Forest, Jl. Hanoman, & Jl. Pengosekan Ubud - hence you can enjoy a great morning walk or an evening stroll. Restaurants, bread shop, and supermarkets are all within a walking distance.
Pros: Location is PERFECT. Oustanding level of service - the staffs are VERY helpful, friendly, and professional. They even do an extra miles without being asked - you can feel the warm and sincere attention from their service it excels and covers every lack which you may felt about the hotel. The pool is AWESOME, and family friendly. I recommend staying in rooms with lagoon access. The rooms are clean, spacious (10/10), and the bed is comfortable (8/10). Generous amount of daily bottled water are given, up to 4 bottles per room per day.
Cons: Rooms need to be improved: card security lock. The closet in the toilet is small and won't comfortably fit a big and tall person. Parking space are limited.
Overall verdict in my opinion: 9/10. The staff services excel even another 5-star hotels in which I am a regular. Despite of the lack of improvement for the door lock and toilet, I will definitely prefer Anumana among any other hotels around Ubud area. I recommend to stay for at least 4 to 5 nights since it's location gives a huge benefit for travellers who enjoy strolling...
