Looking for a budget stay outside the hustle bustle of Ubud and yet a short distance to a hidden café that serve babi guling and secluded jungle club? Kandarpa Ubud got you cover. Without any expectations during my booking, I was quite amazed at this chill 3* property has to offer. It’s a small chill, laidback – sort of Balinese village style property. I’d say this small boutique hotel is quite artsy too if you spot them in different corners of the hotel. ||||There’s only one category in the hotel which is their Deluxe King room – with the option to choose either pool access rooms or upper rooms with balcony depends on their availability. I choose their upper floor rooms for the view of the jungle. I’d say the room is decent in size if you’re a solo/couple. There’s nothing much to shout out about the rooms given the rate, but the water pressure can be stronger in my opinion. If you’re the laidback kind like me, you can always order room service and deliver to your room – even your morning coffee & juice which I did. I like having my dinner at the balcony, just listening to the jungle and looking at the water reflections from the pool at night. ||||The major highlight of staying here is the nearby café/warung that serve babi guling with one of the nicer espresso martini (Warung Abian) and the jungle club (Kelapa Muda) which has a complimentary valet to bring you in just right beside the hotel. I even recommended the hotel if they can do some collab with these places since it’s just next to the hotel. All in all, I really enjoy staying at this rustic Ubud hotel which I didn’t expect at all. Would love to come back, and perhaps one day the hotel will decide to add on more luxurious...
Read moreBeautiful little place just outside Ubud. Walking distance to town but hotel offers to drive guests for a small fee. The unpaved road to the hotel is no issue at all (at least not during dry season). We preferred the room upstairs to those on the ground floor.
Service and communication are both EXCELLENT! Lovely and helpful people all around. The manager gave us a small tour through Ubud and told us about some of the local projects they’re involved with. Great to hear from people who are looking out for the overall development of the area and local culture, rather than just in it for the profit.
The whole team, from the security guy, both Risma & Ajus at the front desk also the manager Dewa were so friendly, and so helpful, we had a wedding to attend and it was during big ceremony day, they have arranged everything for me so i can be there on time while also still get to see ubud. They made my stressful day so easy, picking/driving us up from where ever we were and making sure the transfer were on time. On our hangover day after the wedding, they were also very accommodating, i cant complain about anything. Delicious breakfast delivered to our room with plenty of mineral water 😂 all of this were done with a big smile which we loved!
Some guests complains about some animals in the room, like geckos, but they are meant to be all over ubud, since its located in the jungle. This is very normal and its caused by nature. Nothing to be scared of, its rather cute and beautiful!
We’ll gladly come back next time in...
Read moreA peaceful, cozy and beautiful staycation hotel. it's quite isolated in the center of Ubud. I got really affordable rate during my stay here. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I came around 1 pm, the staff was so kind, he let me check in my room right at that time, I didn't need to wait until 2 pm like other hotels. Room was spacious, cozy and so airy. Every room on the ground floor has direct access to the pool. Breakfast was tasty, if it doesn't fulfill you, you can order their food and beverages from the restaurant, it also tastes yummy and also affordable as well. In the morning or afternoon, you can enjoy walking around this area, it's pretty close to the rice fields, the view was amazing.
Things to consider: if you drive your car or bike, you really need to be careful, the access to this hotel was still dirt road about 100 m. And it's quite dark at night. Parking lot is available for cars and bikes.
Things may need to be maintained and repaired by the hotel: Shower area in my room always leaves water puddle because the it can't be drained well The bed sheet has some little spots and stains but it smells good.
I frankly had such a good time here in Kandarpa, I'd love to come again and spend my time here. I recommend this hotel for those who needs isolated peaceful place in the...
