“A Heartfelt Silver Ring-Making Experience in Ubud”
I recently had the most memorable ring-making experience in Ubud, Bali, with my boyfriend. The workshop, located just a short distance from the bustling town center, was nestled in a peaceful spot, away from the noise. It felt like stepping into a tranquil sanctuary, where time slowed down, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the creative process.
This workshop exclusively offered silver as the material, and we were able to choose our own designs. Despite having no prior experience, the couple running the workshop made everything feel so easy and enjoyable. They welcomed us like family, guiding us step by step with such kindness and care. It wasn’t just about learning how to make a ring—it was about feeling truly connected to the people around us.
One of the highlights of the day was when I struggled to engrave a straight line on my ring. My boyfriend, the couple, and I shared a good laugh over my less-than-perfect attempts. That moment of laughter turned a simple mistake into a memory I’ll cherish forever. The couple’s own beautifully crafted rings served as inspiration, but they also encouraged us to embrace our own personal touches, making the experience even more special.
The finished ring may not be as flawless as the couple’s examples, but it holds a world of meaning for me. Every step was infused with care, and the process itself was just as valuable as the final result. Now, whenever I look at the ring, I’m reminded of the warmth, the laughter, and the shared experience we had that day.
The experience cost 450,000 IDR, which felt incredibly reasonable for what we gained from it. Not only did we craft our own rings, but we also learned about Balinese culture and connected with such wonderful people. It was more than just a ring-making class; it was a priceless, unforgettable experience.
For anyone visiting Bali, I highly recommend this unique silver ring-making workshop. It’s a beautiful way to create something personal while sharing moments of joy and connection that go far beyond the final product. You’ll leave with more than just a ring—you’ll carry the memory of a special day spent in the heart of Ubud, filled with laughter and...
Read moreI recently attended a silver jewelry-making workshop and brought two very delicate and valuable gemstones with me. Before anything began, I clearly explained that I wanted to create two pendants with two very specific requests: do not damage the stones and absolutely do not use glue. I even told them that if it wasn’t possible, it was totally fine — I would rather walk away than risk harming the stones.
Unfortunately, not only was the first stone mysteriously broken during a very simple step (just adding a ring around it), but while I wasn’t looking, they quickly applied glue to the second one — exactly what I had asked them not to do.
I’m extremely disappointed. The owners are friendly and funny, yes, but what happened here was dishonest. I had been very insistent and clear, so I genuinely can’t understand how they chose to ignore my request so completely.
If you’re looking to make something simple and not too meaningful, this place might be fine. But if you bring something precious to you, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. They laughed the whole time while I walked away with wasted time and damaged stones. Which was beyond disrespectful…
Ps : UPDATE : I have confirmation that they stole a piece of my stone because i was stupid enough go tell them how valuable it was....
Read moreThis was the first class we approached to find out about making our own rings. Made is such a sweetheart and we immediately felt that you can go to other shops and see but this is a small family business and done by good people and what’s more important than that?
Made and her husband helped each of us on our rings as the different design had a different process. They really wanted to make sure your ring was going to be pretty and it’s obvious that they focus on quality!
The cost was 450k for 7 grams of silver, pretty much the same as elsewhere I think. But with Ubud Handmade Silver Class you know your money is going to a wonderful place and you are supporting small local business owners!
Don’t...
