Just spectacular! Super authentic.
Best Indian food I've had outside of India and better than a lot of places in India.
We ordered a Mushroom Matar Paneer, Mutton Mappas, Cherupayar and lots of parotta and chapati. (First 2 pictures) All South Indian specialities. Each one was wonderful. Depth of flavour. Perfectly balanced.
The Chef is a genius. His missus, Sous Chef, has perfect extra chapati flying out in a moment. The both very sweet too.
The place isn't posh but there's an earthy coolness to it. We went to the best reviewed Indian restaurants in Ubud but won't visit those again. I can't wait to go back to Bin Ras!
5th January 2024 update: I was wrong. It's better than the vast majority of restaurants in India. It reminds me of the best small simple restaurants in India from the 80s and 90s. They don't really exist anymore. My girlfriend of 5 years realised it's the best restaurant we've ever been to together. We just had onion pakora with the onion combo salad as starters. It was incredible. It makes pakora at other restaurants seem like they're giving the children's version. Chicken curry, Peas masala and Kadala curry. (Last 2 pictures) Each one wonderful. The chicken curry has such intense flavour. It benefits from eating with the salad for balance. We loved it. The peas were excellent. The Kadala is a dish I've been trying to get right myself for years. I've never gotten close to the perfection offered here. I'm in awe.

I had the pleasure of dining at Bin Ras in Ubud, Bali, and it was truly an incredible experience. The food is simply outstanding! Don’t let the simple appearance of the place fool you — the flavors that come from their kitchen are beyond amazing.
The chicken curry was absolutely rich, and the flavors were deep, authentic, and comforting. Every bite took me on a culinary journey through India. The rice was cooked to perfection, and the Nasi Goreng India was a delightful surprise, full of bold spices that harmonized beautifully.
The Sweet Lassi was refreshing, and I loved how fresh the Onion Salad was, so light and crisp, complementing the other dishes perfectly. The Indian Tea was just the right amount of spice and warmth — you can taste the love in every sip.
One of my absolute favorites was the roti canai with onion and cheese, such a perfect balance of flavors and textures! The Chapati with Ghee was also superb, a real treat.
This little gem in Ubud offers an authentic Indian culinary experience. The food is not only delicious but full of character. Highly recommended if you’re in the area! Would definitely...
Read moreServe foreigner first , than local people what a jerk, im so hungry here they serve foreigner first than me. I edit my comment here as I couldn't reply to the response. I did come first than the foreigner guy, simply 20 minutes earier than him, I ordered my food and saying that I will pay on my own since the waitress was giving me a look I seek for free meal cause I brought them guests. Still she responded to my order in not so serious way. Then comes the foreigner when I was following up my order, and this guy make an order as same mine, then got his right 10 minutes after he ordered it. I made a complaint why on earth he get his order when he just arived while it took me almost 40 minutes to get mine. I am not showing my ego or anger here. Simply showing how disrespect these people are to their own local fellas. If only I could remember the name of the waitress and put it here, you might think that I am harrasing even more. So, when people make comment,it is not because they are showing their ego off and putting the anger, simply because you guys deserve to know your...
