First the positives Huge Villa, lot of space in bedroom, spare room, separate kitchen and dining area, private pool, outdoor seating. Good greenery in and around Villa. Staff is available for help and make you comfortable. Location is off from main Ubud market which we wanted so it was less crowded and we hardly faced traffic coming back to Villa at the end of the day. Laundry, Supermarket, Money Exchange and Italian restaurant at 5 mins walk Breakfast is provided in the Villa as per fixed menu option or alternatively go to their main Resort for buffet option. On the day of Mount Batur tour we left at 3am and the staff provided basic breakfast in a box to carry which was very kind of them. Quiet place if you want to have a laid back time during the day.
Now the drawbacks... The property is not independently operational and have just couple of staff to look around the needs of the guests. Their main property Ubud Bliss Spa and Resort is where the entire team is based of and all communication happens with them via whatsapp so for most of the things you have to inform them in advance. Even the check in check out process happens at their main property. Moreover they are not fully aware of Villa Nini booking details as explained in my next point. The staff wasn't aware about my booking details, the Villa we booked had one double bed and one single bed and they asked if I had booked an extra bed for our kid, I had to show them my booking details to make them understand. They created same confusion for breakfast as well and told me only 2 person b/f is included, I had to again raise the issue with them showing booking details which had booking of 2 adults and 1 kid with breakfast included which they acknowledged later. The property is not maintained well, we had issues with hot water in shower which took them 2 days to resolve, on 1st day we had to take shower in neighbouring villa which was unoccupied and on 2nd day we showered with cold water as our tour pickup was scheduled. Although they compensated by giving us complimentary one hour spa and complimentary floating breakfast. The gas at the villa was also not working which took them 2 days to sort, so it's a pain where you have to keep worrying about housekeeping issues on your vacation. The lights in the Villa are pretty dull and even during the day the natural light doesn't come so it's gloomy. Since the property is next to rice field you will find all kinds of insects and rainy creatures, like Mosquitoes ofcourse which are in abundence, spiders, frogs, crickets, earthworm, snails, flies, lizards... these we could identify. Be prepared to wake up to roosters but that's natural in this kind of setup. No mosquito repellent is provided so please carry your own and also carry mosquito repellent cream. The spare room doesn't have AC or fan, fortunately for us the climate was good and the rains made temp go down but otherwise sleeping in that room could get hot and humid. The villa will have noises from all kind of creatures and sometimes in the middle of night it can disturb you as they might me on the roof of villa making some irritating sounds The private pool is not entirely clean as it's surrounded by plants, the water was cold and the depth is around 5 feet so to enjoy floating breakfast you have to be taller. We passed on the floating breakfast as the water was quite cold. The vehicles can't reach till the villa entrance so either you will have to walk that 100 mtr narrow lane or stop at Bliss Ubud Resort and call for the buggy which is normally fast. Not a big issue but just thought of mentioning. Villa doesn't have any locker box For such a big villa just one dustbin is provided so washroom, bedroom and outside kitchen has to share a dustbin or use your own plastic bags to avoid throwing trash around. Bathroom of villa stinks if it rains and always have dampness. Bathtub is not clean as it has mud falling and sometimes leaves falling in it, so we...
Read moreIt was my first trip abroad and so was it for my wife and son. We had reached Bali after spending a good time in Bangkok and Singapore. We chose Bali as destination to relax and enjoy the culture and spend our time at ease.||||I was hunting for regular hotels suitable for families at budget rates when I saw Villa Nini offering independent villas with exclusive family pools at very cheap rates. I booked 4 months in advance and got a good price. ||||I overshot the booking by a day and I realized that only a month before the travel dates. I got in touch with the contact number of Villa Nini on whatsapp and got a prompt reply to be assured of a booking in a nearby property for the night of my arrival at Bali. ||||We stayed overnight at Bliss Spa and Bungalow in Ubud and was taken to Villa Nini in an electric golf cart. The two properties were hardly 200 mts from each other. Villa nini was away from the main road on a by-lane. The property of Villa nini is arranged in such a manner that the villas are arrayed alongside paddy fields. As you enter through the traditional door you see the small long stretch of paddy fields to the right of the walk way. On the left you have the reception, the common pool and the villas in that order. The property is safe and well guarded with high walls behind the villa and along the narrow paddy stretches which share boundaries with local houses.||||The wooden doors to the villas open to traditional wooden cottages with tiled roofs. The villas are constructed a feet above the ground on silts, maybe to avoid water logging issues. You will find the swimming pool on the left side of the entrance and on the right you have the pantry with a dining table to seat four. The pantry is airy and has a tiled roof and offers good amount of sunlight inside. The pantry has a small kitchen with utensils and an electric stove. The refrigerator has good stock of beer, tonic water, soda, soft drinks and mineral water. The villa has a front verandah with two cane chairs and a cane teapoy. You enter into the bedroom which has a king size bed with neatly draped mosquito nets. A full wardrobe, flat screen TV, a dressing table, study table and two bedside tables find place in the bedroom. To the left of the bedroom you have a small kids bedroom which can also act as your dressing room or luggage room. This small cozy room opens its windows into the swimming pool. To the right of the bedroom is the bathroom with a bathtub and shower with a pebble paid wash area. ||||The Villa Nini is a cozy laid back independent villa in Ubud which is quiet interior from the main road and offers a comfy, peaceful and private stay. Read moreOur transfer driver dropped us to bliss spa (villa nini sister company)|We were greeted with a very warm welcome and offered fresh cool towels and a lovely ginger drink. We were offered info about the area, taken on a tour around bliss. Then when we were ready we were helped with our luggage and taken to Villa Nini by golf cart, only a short few minute trip. Once we arrived our luggage was carried to our Villa by lovely staff, we were shown our Villa and then left to settle in. We were very happy with the location and the Villa was beautiful. Everything was clean, the pool was lovely, it was everything we'd hoped for and more. There was a complimentary breakfast every morning at a time of our choosing, there were a few options to select and it was more than enough to get the day started. Breakfast was hot, as was the coffee, the fruit was fresh and they were very polite upon delivery. All encounters with staff were very happy and friendly, they catered to our every need and having the villa cleaned was a daily option should you require it. It was handy to central Ubud, the famous Ubud markets and the Sacred monkey forest. We spent a total of 6 nights here and we wish we stayed longer. We ventured out to temples, water falls, Mt.Batur sunrise trek, massages, Tirta Gangga water palace, rice terraces, all accessible by scooter or private driver from this location. The air con was great and the pool was a treat to end each day! We will be...
