Hotel Sant'Orsola Collection by GSA Hotels — Hotel in Bologna

When I saw the first couple of negative reviews after my partner told me he had booked this for a two-night stay, I was dreading staying there! My expectations were also tempered by the 1-star rating, but we could not have been more pleasantly surprised! ||||Our room was separated from the next one by two 'shared bathrooms', but as the other room was vacant, we essentially had a bathroom each which was very handy for getting ready. The bathrooms and the room itself were impeccably clean and the room had a balcony with a really lovely view of a tree-lined courtyard and quaint neighbouring apartments. The hotel was the quietest I've ever stayed in (which surprised me as we were told everybody in the hotel, ourselves included, were there for the Guns n' Roses Imola concert!) and facilities were fine with a small TV and a nice coffee-maker. The staff member at the front desk was very helpful - going as far as to having a fridge put in our room so that chocolates I had bought as a gift would not melt. ||||Breakfast was around the corner in a very nice contemporary cafe - coffee delicious and croissant very edible!||||So all in all, I was surprised both at the rating and at the first couple of negative reviews that I saw, thought I would share my experience as this little place is really...

Terribile esperienza. Nessuna persona alla reception, ma una sorta di video reception, dove per tutte le questioni devi ripetere più volte lo stesso concetto. Pagato 172 euro per due notti, inclusa tassa di soggiorno, per un terribile servizio che includeva diverse rampe di scale per raggiungere il terzo piano (no, non hanno l'ascensore), coperte e lenzuola sporche con aloni di dubbia provenienza, e per concludere uno staff totalmente indifferente alle mie richieste. Al mio arrivo non sono stati capaci di fornirmi la ricevuta fiscale, per la quale inizialmente ho sorvolato dato che la persona che mi parlava dal video mi aveva assicurato che l'avrei trovata pronta una volta fatto il check-out. Ovviamente per il check-out non c'era nessuno, e quando ho suonato a quella sorta di "citofono", mi hanno risposto che me l'avrebbero mandata per email. Dopo diverse sollecitazioni per telefono mi hanno mandato una ricevuta NON fiscale. Li ricontatto per telefono e la risposta è stata che potevano fornirmi solo una ricevuta non fiscale e che la mia ricevuta fiscale è stata stampata il giorno del mio check-out perché risultava così e che è strano che io non l'abbia trovata in reception. Praticamente hanno ammesso che qualcun altro ha preso la mia ricevuta dove erano riportati tutti i miei dati. Preciso che l'edificio è pieno di telecamere, quindi se è vero quanto dichiarato, basterebbe ricontrollare le registrazioni e risalire alla persona che ipoteticamente ha preso per errore la mia ricevuta. Aggiungo, inoltre, che se è vero che risulta stampata, perché poi mi hanno ricontattata tramite whatsapp per chiedermi il numero del mio codice fiscale da aggiungere alla ricevuta? Sono ancora in attesa di ricevere questa ricevuta, e nel caso non dovessi ottenerla, contatterò la guardia di finanza, perché per legge sono tenuti a rilasciarla. Per il prezzo speso e il servizio ricevuto, sconsiglio questa struttura. Per 86 euro circa a notte si trova non di meglio, di più.

Aggiornamento 24/10/2023 Dato che non ho più ricevuto risposte alle mie richieste per la ricevuta fiscale (per la quale mi avevano assicurato che sarebbe arrivata tramite mail) ho deciso di andare di persona all'hotel il giorno 20/10/2023. Visto che nessuno rispondeva al citofono, li ho ricontattati per telefono, sia tramite chiamata whatsapp (numero dal quale mi avevano mandato la ricevuta non fiscale) che ai numeri che erano esposti nella porta principale dell'hotel. Anche in quel caso lì nessuna risposta. Decido quindi di lasciar perdere. Dopo qualche ora ricevo una chiamata da uno dei numeri che avevo contattato, e una voce maschile mi chiede chi ero, e quando gli faccio presente che ero la persona che li aveva contattati svariate volte per farsi mandare la ricevuta fiscale, mi risponde che aveva presente chi ero e che mi avrebbe ricontattato più avanti. Non ricevendo nessuna chiamata, lo richiamo un paio di ore dopo (erano le ore 17). Inizialmente, pensando fossi un'altra persona, mi chiama con un altro nome e inizia a parlarmi di altre questioni, ma quando gli faccio presente chi ero, mi dice con aria seccata che in quel momento non ha tempo e di ricontattarlo la settimana dopo. Ho dovuto lasciar perdere perché a quel punto era chiaro che stavo inutilmente perdendo tempo. Viaggio spesso per lavoro, e faccio sempre in modo di farmi avere la ricevuta fiscale con l'aggiunta del mio codice fiscale, perché senza quella non posso fare la richiesta di rimborso spese all'ente per cui lavoro. Nonostante ciò, ammetto che è la prima volta che mi capita una situazione così,...

Well, it was about the cheapest i could find for a private room. It is about a 15 minute walk to the old part of Bologna. It iis a pleasant to walk in and through one of the city gates ( St Vitale) and then into the centre, so if you don't mind walking a little, i wouldn't let that put you off.||||The hotel / hostel is not in a great area - behind the railway tracks, but it wasn't noisy. The receptionist was pleasant. The room itself was impossibly dark and dingy and i wonder what possessed them to paint the walls sludge brown and put brown coverings on the bed. There was only a sheet and a brown covering - no spare blankets, so check if think you might get cold. The thing i really didn't like was the smell. The room and bathroom were clean, but a nasty smell emanating from the bathroom pervaded the room. It may only have been this room and it may be a temporary problem but ... ||||I had booked two nights and my overall stay in Bologna was excellent.
