This is a family-run hotel, and a lot of thought has evidently gone into making guests comfortable and attending to their needs. The hotel is pretty central and has its own parking, so is very convenient whether you are travelling by car or train. The decor is principally light coloured wood (for which the hotel won an award) with sympathetic colours throughout. The rooms have electrically controlled blackout blinds that rise from the base of the window so that you can still enjoy some daylight without being woken by the rising sun, and there is ample storage space. We stayed for five nights on a visit to Bolzano that was partly for business and partly for pleasure, and couldn’t have been happier with the service. The staff were especially helpful and went out of their way to help us resolve problems (with our hired car), making phone calls on our behalf and getting the information we needed, so that the stress of travel was kept to a minimum. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff, whatever their role, were unfailingly friendly and polite. Location: Close to Everything in City Center. 10 mins to main train station.
Building: Pleasant outside appearance...recently renovated inside with beautiful wood workmanship. Automatic doors from outside to lobby entrance. Lift to all floors.
Rooms: Ours was a "triple" which I assume means 3 person capacity as our sofa comverted to a full bed.
I am an elite member of numerous hotel plans and after living in hotels for years...whoever laid out these rooms has spent a lot of time in hotels. Nothing has been left out. The lighting system is initially confusing but quickly mastered.
Giant shower...no tub in our room...twin sinks. Hot..hot water and plenty. Bed very comfortable. Kettle in room. Housekeeping everyday.
The folks in the kitchen were always accomodating even getting food for my wife when she was late for breakfast. Great coffee...and a great selection at breakfast.
If I make it back to Bolzano...I will definitely stay at this family...
Read moreLa Briose is a stunningly stylish boutique hotel in a convenient location just next to old town. Also, there are nice trails for biking and running near by the river. It is amazingly beautiful from outside and very stylish inside as well. We could still smell fresh wood in our quiet ultramodern room. Electric blinding shades block light 100% which makes sleeping great at all times. Staff is friendly and everybody served us well. Special thanks to a young dark-haired gentleman at the front desk. Everything is spotlessly clean. Breakfast is of fresh and high quality ingredients and they serve it until 11 am. Also, check-out is at noon which is an hour more than in most places. ||There are few minor things that would earn them 6/5. I would suggest adding a second rubbish bin to the room. In evening hours, an honesty bar at the lobby...
