Paulaner Stuben — Restaurant in Bolzano - Bozen

We had dinner here with our 3 kids on the last Monday in July, and we left the place with a quite a disappointing and unpleasant experience.

The food was alright and so was the price level of the food and drinks, but the service delivered by the staff was arrogant and unprofessional.

After the beverages was served, our table was quickly invaded by wasps, who was clearly going for the kids Fanta. It quickly ended up with wasps in two of our kids Fanta’s, which of course was very unlucky. We addressed the situation to the waiter expecting his understanding, since the whole wasp problem couldn’t come as a surprise, since it is clearly a problem allover the outside of the restaurant.

But after handing over the two almost full glasses of Fanta to the waiter, he just left and returned with two new empty glasses. We where sure he would at least have the decency to complement one Fanta on the house, given the problem must be well known. But it turned out that they didn’t really care about us and we had to order a new Fanta, which we also ended up paying for. They also clearly ignored that we were bothered by the wasps throughout the whole dinner, without offering us another table inside, or at least acknowledge the problem. Our kids couldn’t concentrate because they were afraid of being stung.

But instead off offering the service you would expect, the restaurant ended up with some very disappointed customers.

Good local food - with huge servings. I ordered two dishes, because I wanted to sample as much of the local food as possible. Just the appetizer would have been enough; the food is often very rich in cream, cheese and butter... It will clog your arteries, but you will die happy, because it is so frigging good.

Paulaner Stuben looks like a small place, but it stretches far inside, with loads of seats in a vaulted cellar. The place manages to provide you with the right Tyrolean feeling, without being the least bit cheesy.

On my visit, I had lunch, which means I can't say anything about evening service, but during lunch hours it was decent. Certainly not bad but nothing out of the ordinary either.

I recommend Paulaner Stuben to people that enjoy rustic local Tyrolean cuisine...

Viaggiatore singolo e disabile anche se si nota poco , avevo sole le bacchette per camminare e un busto che mi faceva stare eretto. Ho chiesto un tavolo e mi e stato risposto che non avevano tavoli da uno. Non ce la facevo più a camminare , ho chiesto se potevo cenare al bancone. Locale bello , un po' scomodo perché ero su un trespolo ma , o così , o così. Ho preso un antipasto di bruschette, ne è arrivata una grande, formaggio fuso, funghi e speck. Buono , funghi veramente buoni avrei chiesto volentieri dove li avessero acquistati. Canederli ai funghi fatti in casa. Sicuramente perché era pane e qualche traccia di speck, molto compatti, sodi, a stento si tagliavano con il coltello. Li faccio molto meglio io. Condito con funghi. Metà champignon e metà surgelati, niente di che tant'è che una palla l ho lasciata lì, erano due. Gulasch con patate . La carne molto tenera ma si sa che anche la carne peggiore le la fai bollire tante ore si ammorbidisce. L intingolo con il quale è stato servito , amaro , non so perché, forse troppe volte riscaldato. A fianco c erano le patate. A spicchi e cotte a parte peccato avessero grattato il fondo ed erano bruciate. Pane non mi è stato servito , forse l avrebbero fatto pagare. Perciò ho mangiato la carne e le patate sopra non bruciato. Coca-Cola per far andare giù la cena. Ho pagato €37. Per questa cifra potevano anche darmi un tavolo da due . Concludendo esperienza sicuramente da non rifare per il trattamento. Una persona singola ha gli stessi diritti delle coppie , in più se vedete che è un disabile, cosa che nella fretta non è stato notato e questa non è una scusa che potete adottare perché si guarda il cliente e no solo i soldi che possono entrare, è un ulteriore pessimo punteggio a...
