We ate at this restaurant last night, looking forward to it, basing our opinion on the glowing reviews. Well, I must say we left disappointed and would not recommend the restaurant. While it serves (probably) typical dishes, the value for money is quite questionable. I had the veal, which, while ok quantity-wise, was definitely chewy and with it came (as ordered) raw vegetables, namely 2 quarters of a fennel bulb, 1 quarter of a carrot, 3 cherry tomatoes and 2 radishes. My friend had the roast pork, of which there were 4 small pieces of mostly bony, fatty meat. This came with 4 pieces of roast potato. While presentation was very nice, as a portion it was highly inadequate. And don't get me started on the "dessert" - do not be deceived by the pictures above! A few pieces of very, VERY sweet confectionery that would not pass for a dessert anywhere else (even in other Sardinian restaurants we've been to so far), and I have a sweet tooth... you have no say in that, also each table was served different things. Plates were snatched away without asking even though we were not quite finished (I had to fill up on bread in the end). All in all, we left very...
Read moreVery good food, cosy environment, friendly staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It has a warm countryside setup, (although they are located in Cagliari old town quarter), staff are very welcoming and the food choice is from traditional Sardinian cuisine. Starters range from "tapas" ("spizzichi" or "assaggini") composed of various cured meats and local cheeses, served on freshly prepared carasau (typical Sardinian crunchy flat bread), and grilled vegetables, the main courses range from a series of Fregola pasta, in various meaty or veggie sauces, to meats including the legendary Sardinian "maialino" (little pork). I have personally tried the mixed cured meats and cheeses starter and the traditional Culurgiones (dumplings of potato and cheese) in tomato sauce. It was all accompanied, as suggested by the staff, by a simple but well bodied "quartino" of local house red wine. Without even asking, but actually a logical conclusion to such excellenty meal, I was served with a range of local pasticcini, accompanied by an excellent white amabile...
Read moreThis place was incredible. Remember to book before hand though or you risk having to wait. They greet you with food already on the table for you to have as a starter, different types of Pecorino cheeses with Carasau bread, slices of different meats, like Salumi, Panceta etc. and a tray with grilled vegetables. That's only the starter, after that you order and the options are all Sardignian traditional dishes, I had the Boar (in umido, which is like in a sauce) and some friends had Mutton and Pork. It was delicious. Next a tray with a variety of Sardignian sweets, which where also amazing, nutty, sweet and small but just the right amount to satisfy any sweet-tooth. Also my friends had some house wine which I didn't but they said it was good. The staff was super friendly and kind, the service was super quick and just the right temperature. It is truly one of the best restaurant experiences I've had so...
