Firstly, the B&B is decorated lovely, in fact it is very stylish. It is spotlessly clean. The room we stayed in is very large and comfortable. The bed was nice too. Good towels provided. The hosts is very helpful and very friendly. Check in flexible. Beach umbrella and a cool bag is there for your use which is really good. The location is excellent and central (but also awful - read below). There is good wi-fi. But there were a few SERIOUS negatives to the place. The first and worst is the location. It is right over a bar and a piazza and every night of the 3 nights we were there the noise was awful. Even with shutters and windows closed, a train station would be quieter. At 03.30 am I gave up trying to sleep and got up for a cuppa as the intoxicated youngsters outside screaming at full voice may as well have been in the room with us. It eventually stopped after 4am. It is obviously a common thing as they provide "ear plugs", which were not enough to block out the screaming from below. The next negative is the noise of the plumbing in general (loud knocking whenever you run a tap or flush etc.) and add to that the toilet flushes with a macerator pump which is "really" loud. Also, I am not a fan of not being able to flush toilet paper down the toilet (warning signs of a €600 fine if you do so), so a bin is provided for dirty toilet paper which was not emptied in the 3 nights we were there. The shower has very little pressure and will not stay up on the slider, so hand held only. The breakfast is not great; pre-packed buns/pastires and one cake (same one there for 4 days), some yogurts and fruit and teas/coffee. There is a coffee machine but only a couple of capsules (despite being told on arrival to help ourselves to coffee all day). We had to request extra capsules to be put out and even then, for the next morning, just 6 capsules for 4 people. And for some reason only UHT milk, not fresh milk. We knew about the breakfast in advance from previous reviews and this wasn't an issue for us as there is a gorgeous bakery just 50m away. But the lack of coffee and fresh milk just seemed to be mean.||Also, please note the bed is on a mezanine. The stairs are extremely steep and there is no banister so a fall would be easy. There is no gate at the top, which was a bit worrying as my partner sleep walks, so we had to tie a suitcase strap accross the top of the stairs at night.||||Would we stay again?, no - mainly because of the severe noise problem (the worst I have ever encountered in decades of holiday in cities).||Also, please not the other bedroom has a separate bathroom where you walk through the dining room/reception to get to it.||Without the noise and the toilet issue this would have got 4 stars and thank you to the host for a nice welcome.
We stayed here for two nights and wished we could have stayed forever. Florencia was very generous, contactable and welcoming from arrival onwards and gave us a map with some ideas for places to visit. Both the room and shared kitchen area were stunning and also very comfortable. It was all clean and cared for and everything worked perfectly. The help yourself breakfast was great and there was a large array of options and the facilities were very good too. The decor of the room was really cool and alternative, clearly a lot of thought had gone into the aesthetic! Location wise it's perfect for quick access to not only good restaurants but also the city's best known monuments.
😊: The location, bed was comfortable, the place was clean and the communication with the host was easy.. 😢: No TV in the room, the balcony is non existent, it's a Juliette balcony with an AC unit on it. Because of the location, cannot keep the curtains open, the door does not stop any noise, and as there are another 3 rooms, you can hear everyone coming, going, talking etc. so "funnily" we have been woken up several times two nights in a row by other guests at the flat and not by the noise from the 3 different restaurants and bars, or people passing under the place..
