Despite making reservations almost two months in advance for Academia Galleria due to high demand, we faced a frustrating experience. We did not find availability on the museum website, everything sold out for the date of the trip, for this reason we booked with Get your Guide website, which we had used on other occasions and without any problem. The visit was scheduled for 9.30 am, due to an unforeseen health event we arrived at 9.28 am. We went to the meeting point described in the reservation confirmation, but not seeing anyone with the Car tour logo we asked the employee who was in charge of organizing the line if we could enter the museum by showing the QR, she kindly explained to us that we needed to validate our tickets, it was already 9.35am. We called the number we saw in the reservation and the employee gave us the description of the person who was in charge of validating the tickets, who never showed up. We called again and she told us to go to the agency's address (Via dei Tavolini 15R, Firenze) to validate the tickets. We walked for 15 minutes, convinced by this call that we were going to resolve our situation. When we got there, she was on the phone with the museum, and explained to us that the museum couldn't let us in because we had already passed our entrance time and they couldn't change our tickets for another time because they didn't have availability. The agency couldn't help us either for the same reasons. A total waste of time, since she could have explained this to us over the phone, and money (144 dollars). She also suggested that we could buy tickets in front of the museum with other agencies. That's what we did, 35 dollars per person and we were finally able to enter that day, without any problem and at the same time we had bought the tickets. Which was incredible considering that the museum had no availability. Too disappointed with this experience at Academia Galleria, sad about the lack of willingness of the staff in this institution and travel agency to help us in our situation, which we resolved by paying again. We...
Read moreWe used Caf tours to book “skip the line” tickets for the Accademia. A few days before our tour they adjusted the time by an hour with no explanation, but we changed our plans to accommodate the new time. We arrived to the museum on time (10:15) but we had trouble meeting the guide because the meeting area was entirely under construction (not mentioned at all in their communications, despite them providing out of date pictures of the meeting place). We made it to the meeting point at 10:20 and saw no host. We reached out at 10:24 and received no response. When I called at 10:25 (5 min before ticket start time) i was told our only option was to walk to their office, 10 min away. When I pushed back, saying we would miss our tour with a 20 min delay, the individual said they would have someone bring us the tickets and then hung up. My husband eventually went to get the tickets from their office at 11, because no one ever came. When we went to use the tickets, we found that they were for 2 different times and one was expired. The worker told me via whatsapp that the host waited until 10:20, and then left. Nowhere in their communications does it say that purchasers have a 5 min window to collect tickets. We have no tickets, and our out 3x the baseline ticket price because we thought we were getting a premium service. They are now telling us they can’t...
Read moreAwful Experience – Unprofessional and Rude Tour Guide (19 October 2024 - 7 AM Tour)
I recently went on a Cinque Terre tour with CAF Tours & Travels and it was a complete disaster due to the behaviour of the guide. Although there was mix up of tickets from the travel app which we had booked our tour from, we were trying to resolve it in a peaceful manner by coordinating with the agency.
From the very beginning, the guide was incredibly rude and dismissive. Additionally, he outright denied to upgrade our tour and even told me, “I don’t want to see your face,” which left me shocked and humiliated.
Instead of focusing on providing a quality tour experience, the guide spent time bragging about being a millionaire and claimed to have worked with celebrities — totally irrelevant and off-putting. To make matters worse, he arrogantly stated, “I wipe my face with your money.” This kind of behavior was beyond disrespectful and created a very uncomfortable atmosphere for me and my family.
I expected a professional and enjoyable tour, but what I got was completely the opposite. This behavior is unacceptable, and I’m truly disappointed that CAF tour would allow someone like this to represent them. I will not be recommending this company to anyone and strongly advise others to stay away unless they enjoy being...
