I was surprised how many negative reviews are posted for this place. Most of them center on the service. And probably that is correct. These guys are old and have an old school attitude.
That said, I go for the food and will review from that perspective
Basically, this has been among my best eating experiences in Italy. As a starter… the bread was definitely the best. I ordered a glass of red wine… also outstanding.
Actually, I only came here because I was hungry. So I ordered lasagne thinking …. What could go wrong. I would say it was good… although a little dry. And a long wait to bake it
That said. I was interested to see how they make lasagne in Italy. They used fresh pasta. And, allowing for the difference in style from the USA. It was good
They used cloth napkins for lunch. Which I appreciate since the normal wax paper napkins one encounters are a serious annoyance for me
From my seat I could see all the dishes coming from the kitchen. They all looked fantastic
I closed with tiramisu and cappuccino. Very good. And no side looks from ordering a cap too late in the day
Bottom line. Aside from the service. An...
Read more‼️DO NOT EAT HERE - ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A TOURIST‼️I wish I could give this even lower than one star. Service was atrocious- the most rude servers I’ve ever come across. I ordered the fettuccine with bolognese. What I got was spaghetti that was hardly cooked. So hard and chewy that I couldn’t even eat it. My partner ordered pizza and I wish I’d have pictured how awful it looked. It claimed to be mozzarella, french fries and sausage. The sausage did not look clever, the mozzarella was not even melted so was chewy and awful and the ‘French fries’ literally looked like chunks of pineapple. Neither were edible - my partner tried to eat it out of courtesy and I sent mine back after having a couple of mouth fulls. To our shock even after politely explaining to the chef what was wrong with each meal - we requested the bill and we’re charged full price for both meals. Not just that but a €8 SERVICE FEE(?!) for what I can not tell you as I have said the service was the worst I’d come across in 3 weeks in Italy. Avoid at all costs unless you want to pay for a meal you will not be able to eat and...
Read moreWhat a bed experience we had here. The restaurant is busy, with footfall from train station.
Everything was nice until the food arrived. €18 for prawn spaghetti. The pasta was undercooked and drowning in fish oil. Could not eat. I complained and was verbally abused by two staff members in front of a full restaurant of customers.
My partners roast chicken with a side of roast potatoes, was actually a thin cut chicken breast, dry with no seasoning. The potatoes were basically French fries. Chicken overcooked and tasteless.
I asked for the bill, I then asked for discount for the awful food, again I was shouted at by the staff, I had eaten two prawns on my dish so had to pay full price. On the way out the door I took a picture of the restaurant (to post here) and again two staff members arguing with us in the street.
We actually eat the night before in the restaurant next door sapori di partevope-beautiful 10/10
Avoid, disgusting food, rude aggressive staff. They are only interested in serving one-off tourists, poor food and...
