Hotel Villa Stefania — Hotel in Pustertal - Val Pusteria

We had a lovely week here as a winter holiday.|It is a 5 minute walk to the centre of town; the skibus stops right outside the hotel.|The town of San Candido (Innichen in German) is up-market and charming with well priced bars and restaurants. It is not, however the right resort if you are looking for wild boozy evenings.|We had a suite on the 2nd floor, which was very well appointed, with a lounge and large balcony.|The bed was very comfortable. Everything was immaculately clean.|The staff were all friendly and worked very hard to make sure everyone was happy; everything was done with a smile. |Breakfast had a large choice of cold and cooked to order items.|There was a wonderful afternoon tea with sandwiches and home-made cakes.|Dinner was 5 tasty courses; we mostly took fish as the main course, but there were meat and vegetarian options.|The bar was comfortable, and the drinks were reasonably priced.|The hotel arranges daily free excursions, such as guided mountain walks and twice-weekly yoga classes.|The ski area is small. We found our mixture of skiing and walking was perfect for us, but if we had just been skiing we would have found it a little limiting.|We had a great week and will come back. Immaculate from the very start with a warm welcome from Valentina, nothing was a problem when we asked questions as well as making Reservations for activities and excursions. Faultless!! Marco spoilt us rotten with his exceptional hospitality at the bar making delicious drinks and we had numerous conversations even though we cannot talk Italian. Angel more than looked after us at dinner time and really took the time to see that my children and I were well fed and took care of my Daughters Vegetarian requests. Breakfast was amazing with a huge variety and all the staff were more than happy to help us if we needed something, I just wish I knew everyone’s Name. The hotel is wonderful and very modern the rooms are bright as well as being cosy and the spa and wellness is immaculate and very modern. The New Year’s Eve celebration was amazing and all the staff really made it special. Please can we stay another week!!...

Da ormai 35 anni trascorro tutte le vacanze in alta Val Pusteria, sia in estate che in inverno, qualche anno fa ho anche ricevuto la cittadinanza onoraria firmata dal sindaco di Monguelfo per avere soggiornato in Val Casies per oltre 20 anni consecutivi. Quest'anno, con la mia compagna, abbiamo deciso di cambiare struttura ed abbiamo così provato a soggiornare all'Hotel Villa Stefania di San Candido, Hotel a 4 stelle! Come prima cosa al nostro arrivo ci viene assegnato il posto nel garage, da noi pagato come extra 10 euro al giorno, il problema è che non è un garage, ma un'area sotterranea aperta con un ingresso minuscolo in curva, con la stessa temperatura sotto zero che trovo all'esterno, quindi pagato ma totalmente inutile. La camera a noi riservata (la 304) si presenta minuscola, senza connessione wi-fi, con una lampada da tavolo in plastica mezza rotta e non collegata alla linea elettrica, frigobar vuoto, lenzuola vecchie e ormai lise con un grosso buco, un tavolino posizionato troppo vicino al letto e quindi sempre contro ai piedi mentre si dorme, due lampade di testa al letto storte e fissate al muro in maniera alquanto instabile, una televisione minuscola che non legge chiavette USB, i muri sporchi, le piastrelle della doccia e il WC vistosamente distaccati dalla parete, la riloga delle tende sporca di vernice e con tende sintetiche di pessimo gusto e nemmeno la presenza di una penna o un foglio di carta. Soffitto in cartongesso nonostante si fosse all'ultimo piano, quindi niente legno del soffitto a vista tipicamente altoatesino. La piscina della Zona Spa, a parte il primo giorno, era fredda, fredda al punto che tutti gli ospiti, noi compresi, entravano ed uscivano subito lamentandosi, l'ascensore molto spesso arrivava al piano ma poi si incantava e non ripartiva, nel corridoio principale abbiamo trovato un grosso ragno che passeggiava liberamente. Abbiamo quindi chiesto di poter tornare a casa prima del giorno pattuito ma ci è stato detto che avremmo comunque dovuto pagare la somma pattuita per l'intero soggiorno! Ho soggiornato ovunque, in Val Casies, nella Valle di Anterselva, a Brunico, a Dobbiaco e a Sesto in campeggi, agriturismi e hotel ma questa volta mi sono sentito letteralmente truffato! Abbiamo cercato di andare via prima per non sprecare così i nostri soldi ma non è stato possibile. Le persone che vanno in vacanza devono essere felici quando arrivano e non quando...
