Eating at this restaurant might give one the impression that food in Rome is vastly worse in all respects than food in Firenze or Umbria or Lombardi, etc. (While some of this might be true) These people can't be serious people - even for touristic restaurants it was not imaginable to me that there is such a restaurant in Italy. They gave me 5 minutes or less to eat my antipasto and brought me my pasta while I was still eating it. The clams in the clam pasta were not fresh and I had the dilemma whether I should eat it and how much I should eat. Their pizzas looked like the German Flamekuchen (which is not bad but, come on). The trippa alla romana didn't have much taste. The cooked spinach (one of the side dishes) was okay but was brought to the table 5 minutes after the trippa. If I should say something not negative, I would say that the bread was reasonably good but the olive oil wasn't. The waiter was amazing! He took my orders while trying to hail people from the streets to sit down. Needless to say, it took a while to order and it wasn't clear if the right information was communicated. Ah, also, the house wine costs 7 Euro per glass, which was made up price that wasn't on the menu. (Usually a half litre of house wine costs 4.5-6 euros at most good restaurants I have been to in Italy). Their menu had several interesting dishes but it turned out that lots of them were out. I don't know if they were just out for the day or always because I was at normal dinner time, when less than half of the tables were filled. I highly recommend this restaurant for people who are looking for a reason not...
Read moreNIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE We were around, hungry, and saw the high reviews. but were in reality - it was the worst dinner we could get. Waited 1 HOUR for our food to arrive, 30 MIN. for the drink. They kept telling us "it's ready, have patience" throughout the wait. (It took a good 10 minutes to place the order, they ignored us). And at first they served us the wrong dishes so we refused them. They continued to apologize for the situation but it wasn't the help we needed. When the food finally arrived it was a disappointment. I ordered pizza with cherry tomatoes and black olives - got dices of regular tomato and olives WITH THE PIT INSIDE. Pizza doe was the texture of a passover matzo. Chunks of cold mozzarella - straight out of the fridge. Menu said sweetcorn as well but I don't think I found that in my dish, whatever that is. Was lacking flavor so bad. I'm not an Italian food expert but it was bad. Still ate it cuz we were starving and tipsy. Then they made a mistake in the bill and tried to change us 3 euro more. And had no change. All this waste of time made us tour Trastevere right as shopes starts to close. Lovely. If you still decide to come keep in mind they don't...
Read moreDO NOT COME HERE if you are in any sort of rush or are hungry. Maybe come here 1–2 hours before you think you might be hungry.
We were so excited to come here based on the reviews, but left after about an hour and a half only having been served bread and a few drinks.
We were sat within 10 minutes which was great. We then waited another 10 minutes get a menu. Others around us were complaining about the slow service and not being able to get the attention of the wait staff.
Once we had gotten our menus we then waited another 10 minutes to order drinks.
They came by 20 minutes later to get our food order. While waiting for our food, 3-4 tables got up and left because they had not been served and were frustrated.
After another 20 or so minutes we asked the waiter for some bread. He grabbed bread off of a table that had left and set it on our table for us to eat.
After about another 30 minutes the server who had taken our dinner order earlier walked up to our table and asked us if we were ready to order. At that point we asked for the check. We got an apology from the owner, paid for our drinks, and...
