Trapizzino in Trastevere was a nice discovery.
The location is the picturesque neighbourhood of Trastevere, with its many plants and vibrant food options. There are options to eat in, outside, and take away. For the take away, some more benches outside would have been great, as there are only two, definitely not enough for all the people ordering.
The waiting time for take away can be long, but if you have never tried it, it is definitely worth it.
The bread resembles the perfect fusion between a pizza and focaccia. Very “bready” but well cooked, not too greasy and perfectly crispy on the sides. The portion size is towards the small end, even if the filling is generous.
We had two trapizzini: one was pollo alla cacciatora and the other one the parmigiana. We loved the chicken one, the sauce was great, although the chicken was a bit dry and chewy.
In this regard, we didn’t have this problem with the parmigiana one.
The supplì with broccoli and fish was also good, not too greasy, but a bit too fishy as there was fish inside.
Price wise 5 euros for one trapizzino is perfectly in line with the prices of the area. I’d say this was a perfect snack. Probably for very hungry people, I’d recommend 2 each.
Definitely happy to have tried it and would...

Read moreHad lunch here on a Wednesday, and it was a good choice for a meal. I ordered one of their suppli on special (cacio e pepe), but this was kind of the lowlight. Maybe it was this specific flavor, but it didn’t really come together. The trapizzinos I ordered tasted great, I had one with a giant meatball and the other was another special of the day - tripe. The bread was nice and crunchy, and the fillings were good.
Honestly though, although the food tasted good I can’t help but feel the presentation to be a little gimmicky. It was kind of hard to eat, especially the meatball. I basically had to choose whether to eat the filling or the bread, it was almost impossible to get both in a single bite without spilling it all out.
That being said, the flavors were good and the staff was helpful and friendly. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re already in the area, but maybe not worth a...
