There was no clear communication with the staff on checking in, despite my emails which went unanswered. I also sent texts via WhatsApp and only got 1 reply assuring me they would be there at check in. When we arrived there were multiple buzzers on the door and we had to figure out which one was correct, but they never answered. We stood outside for 15 min asking passers by if they knew how to get in. Finally a tenant on their way out let us in. Couldn't find which floor or room we needed to check in at. Again thankfully someone that was staying there was on their way back in to their room and showed us. This literally wasted more than an hour after a long flight. Our room was tiny, we could barely fit both of our luggage in the room. Not sure if the other rooms are bigger. the sink and toilet were literally on top of each other and we had to squeeze around to sit on the toilet and try not to bump our head and I am not a large woman. The A/C didn't work well and it was 102 in Rome when we were there. They offered no apologies and weren't able to move our room. Most days the "front desk" wasn't even there.||The only good thing about this place was the location, although there are other options in this exact area and even in the...
Read moreFirstly we liked the room - Piazza Dell' Orologgio which had an interesting painting on the ceiling that depicted bees on a blue background. I looked up the significance of this as we saw bee motifs on a fountain and in the Vatican .I think it was connected with the Barbieri family. Anyway it was something I liked to stare at after a hard day's tourism !||The location was very convenient for the city tour bus and local buses like the 64 that gets you downtown in15 mins or less. The hotel is on a charming side street and one can ramble around and find any number of shops cafe's restaurants etc. not too crowded .||The staff were super nice especially Michelle who came at 6am to make sure we got a cab! She gave us travel info and we relied on her on a daily basis as we are virtually helpless in these situations .Place is clean: coffee and tea machine 1 Euro.Old style building but our room was contemporary and comfortable. Flat screen TV. Great value . Would recommend if you would rather have an older Italian style place than an international hotel type...
Read moreI booked this guest house on the basis of the previous reviews on trip adviser I really don’t know why it was rated so highly, good points, great location and the guy who worked there was very nice and friendly. Bad points, room ok but bathroom very small with tiny shower with hardly any water pressure the slight dribble of water that you managed to get was not hot just warm, there’s no way I could have washed my hair there. Don’t expect to get any sleep as the noises from outside were dreadful and the noises from inside, other rooms etc. were unbelievable you’d swear the people were in your room walking about, every time someone dropped something the noise riverberated around the room and at 9am each morning someone blew their nose so loudly you’d swear they were blowing a trumpet. Loved Rome but would never...
