Nobu Hotel Roma — Hotel in Rome

We used our Chase rewards points to book this hotel and were pleased with it. Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights during our first trip to Rome. The rooms are nice and the bathroom had heated floors. I felt the quality of the rooms in the hotel is a little bit better than that of a Westin hotel. There’s also a spa in the hotel if you are looking to relax after a long day of touring the Eternal City. There’s a small lobby area with a restaurant (had breakfast here since it came with the stay) and business center to access the Internet.||The Grand Hotel is waking distance from the Spanish Steps and major shopping areas and a short taxi ride to the Vatican, Colosseum, and other major attractions. The hotel is located in a safe area and the staff is friendly. Not sure how this hotel is rated 4.5 star. Yes, the location is convenient and it has a nice facade but that is about it. Our rate included free breakfast which I ordered and simply never came. The shower was broken and spewing water all over the bathroom. Instead of moving us to another room they insisted they would “fix now” however that took over an hour and ultimately caused us to miss our dinner reservations. Upon check-in they gave us a “complimentary upgrade” as we were on our honeymoon however this amounted to a room on the first floor immediately above a disgusting alley and apparently the break area for employees...even though the room was hot (no AC), we could not leave the window open as the alley smelled horrible and had constant sounds of employees and cigarette smoke right outside the window. Not a pleasant...

This was an excellent hotel experience and a wonderful stay. It is the ONLY hotel that I have ever found where the walls had exceptional soundproofing. Not only did we not hear those in the hallways but even within the room the walls blocked the sound well. In fact I slept undisturbed while my husband showered. Sound was barely detectable. That is impressive!

The hotel, food, accommodations and staff are impressive as well. The breakfast was generous and the bar drinks were served with olives, chips and nuts. The rooms were spacious and we were welcomed with champagne and water. The Concierge was of course very helpful, but the staff in general was even more helpful and thorough and always available. Someone was always there to call a taxi and open a door. I think this is my favorite hotel...
