My wife and I are travellers who enjoy the good things in life – eg. comfortable accommodation, good food, great location, but are not interested in paying the premium of hotels. We also prefer the authentic experience of a b&b or a locally owned apartment over the sometimes sterile and uniform environment of a hotel. We like to meet locals and enjoy a local experience. If this sounds familiar to you, this review might be helpful.
Quod Libet was fantastic! From the moment we checked in with Agostino we were made to feel welcome. We used the transfer service from the airport to Quod Libet (definitely recommended - for 47 EUR you cut out the hassle of navigating trains, transfers and local trains after an international flight).
Agostino was very helpful on checkin and gave us a map and ecommendations for restaurants. Agostino was very welcoming, and made us feel completely at home - he clearly takes an interest in his customers and goes to great lengths to make your stay comfortable.
The room was fabulous. Rome is an amazing city, but good rooms are hard to come by. Quod Libet is an exception. The room was bright, airy and filled with amenities. It is small, however functional and perfectly adequate for a couple travelling. The nespresso machine and bar fridge were excellent, the air conditioning was really good to have with 35 degree days, and the bathroom was sparkling and comfortable.
The room was quiet (double glazing) and bed comfortable. We were very happy.
Breakfast - what a feast!! Agostino really put on a great breakfast - coffee, pastries, fruit, cheeses, meats, bread and yoghurts. It was really filling which was great for a long day of exploring Rome!
There were several rooms at Quod Libet, so at breakfast time, expect to share with some other couples/families the breakfast room - it was nice to meet other travellers!
The location was fabulous, it had everything close by - shops, phone store (to buy a SIM card, ATM's, the metro station and taxi/bus zones.
Do not waste time comparing/looking at other accommodation in Rome - this place ticks all the boxes, provides good value and then delivers a great experience. A very good place to base yourself in Rome and particularly if you have just arrived after a long trip from your home country.
Thankyou Agostino for...
Read moreQuodlibet is an excellent bed and breakfast, 7 minutes walk north from the Vatican city, and an easy 4 minute walk from the Ottaviano metro station. It is also located less than 10 minute walk from several excellent local restaurants and gelato shops. Our hosts, Gianluca and Connie, were so welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Upon arrival and check in, we sat down and Gianluca took time with us to learn what our plans were and what kind of things were important to us during our 3 nights in Rome. He then drew out several great walking paths through the city, taking into account to avoid extremely busy areas when possible, but still allowing us to see the big sights and get some great food and gelato. His recommendations were perfect. Gianluca also assisted us in getting a taxi on the day of our departure (which was extremely helpful since the metro was on strike that day! ). The room was super clean , spacious, comfortable, and wonderfully decorated. Breakfast was on the charming rooftop terrace, and was fairly large. It also included pastries from the bakery located directly under the B&B. We will never forget the sweet smell of cakes and breads baking , the entirety of our stay. It was truly delightful. The staff was also very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Rona served us breakfast and she was wonderful. If we ever are able to return to Rome, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Grazie Gianluca and...
