We spent three nights here in October on our first trip to Rome and it was a wonderful experience that could not be better. Firstly, the location is excellent, a safe, residential neighbourhood a short distance from Ottaviano Metro station which will take you into the very centre in a few minutes. The Vatican is a short walk as are some lovely restaurants that charge a fraction of the price of city centre eateries. The rooms are beautifully clean, light, airy and spacious with lovely comfortable beds. Breakfast was another highlight, with homemade cakes, the best cappuccino ever and lots of choice of cereals, cold meats & cheese. But it's the hosts that make the experience extra special. They are a lovely family who take great pride in their city and ensuring their guests get the very best out of it. They are keen to share their knowledge of places to go, places to eat, places not to eat and so on. They will happily make reservations for you at restaurants in Trastevere or anywhere, especially if you visit at a busy time, which seems to all the time. In our case, we were planning to visit two art galleries, but they suggested a church and crypt (Musei e Cripta dei Cappuccini) between the two that was actually my favourite place in our entire visit. Staying at Vatica B&B felt like a proper holiday with the full Italian experience that we were keen to embrace. We will definitely go back once the Giubileo / Jubilee celebrations are complete. We can't wait &...
Read moreAir conditioners are not allowed to use. You won't be given a remote control just not to allow you to use them. Streets are noisy so if you decide to open a window all that noise will be in your room.||2. Old, cheap, hard and uncomfortable pillows. Cheap old linen. ||3. ICE floor made from tile. Slippers are ONLY provided in the 3-persons room with a balcony we initially paid.||4. Two Coffee capsules cost 0.5 cent each. It is expected pettiness from peoples like those owners )) not a surprise. ||5. The shared kitchen is closed right after the breakfast so you can't use it. You do not have an opener for vine bottles and you are not allowed to eat anything in any room! it is requested with a sign on every room door. Great service, thank you. ||6. Two tiny very cheap douche gel-shampoo bottles for each stay. ||7. Poor English in both owners. Preferred to speak poor Russian.||8. At breakfasts you’ll never be left alone to simply enjoy breakfast with your family. You will be obliged to maintain a talk to both annoying owners every morning. ||9. Breakfasts very poor: coffee, bakery, 1 type of sausages and a bite of cheap cheese, 2 cheap juice-like drinks and some milk for coffee. ||Awful stay. The price difference between that room with a balcony we paid and Zero6 - which was 140 euro - obviously wasn't compensated...
Read moreIt was the first time the hubby and I had been to Rome and Lyuba and her daughter made us feel at home.||||When we first arrived the two of them spent a lovely half an hour getting to know us and taking the time to go through the sites in Rome that we wouldn’t want to miss as first timers. They told us about 3-4 things that we hadn’t planned on doing but we’re definitely glad we did. They also suggested a few great local restaurants. This was all done with great Italian espresso!||||The rooms themselves are kept lovely and clean and Lyuba serves a lovely sweet continental breakfast. Her home made cake was our favourite thing. ||||The place is Incredibly easy walk to the Vatican Museums and The Basilica. The majority of the other main sites in the city are easy to walkable and about 30 minutes from the property. The Colosseum is slightly further away but you could easily jump on the metro which is only a couple minutes walk away.||||Would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. The way Lyuba hosts you, she honestly treats you like family and her warmth and amazingly welcoming manner makes staying with her an...
