Attempted to have lunch here last Saturday and found the service to be absolutely appalling. Right away the maître d' seemed unattending and unfriendly. After it took them five full minutes to bring us the menu (even though only two other tables were occupied and both were taken care of), I took my 9-month-old daughter out of her stroller to hold her while we waited to get any attention from the staff. Our table was made up of two smaller ones and my husband moved one of them to make more room for the stroller. The maître d' then rushed over, wordlessly moved the table and our stroller to their original positions. When my husband asked what was the problem he was told 'we don't usually move tables', no excuses, no courtesy and frankly someone touching our things seems unacceptable. Then the maître d' proceeded to tell me 'You have to sit down, LADY'. I was so shocked, I had to ask my husband twice if I had heard correctly. The maître d' then said 'It's because of the pandemic, you can't stand'. Seriously? I'm standing right by our table, you just touched our stroller without any gloves on and as far as I'm concerned the menu is supposed to be just shown to us/ written on a chalkboard/printed for one-time use only, not the way it was presented to us on a laminated piece of paper. An absolutely unpleasant experience, which is a shame because we live nearby and I've always thought the restaurant looked lovely...
Read moreWhile looking for a dining spot near our hotel that offered something other than pasta and pizza, we stumbled upon this place. It had a very nice atmosphere and a classy look that immediately caught our attention. However, our initial impression was slightly ruined by the manager's attitude, as he was unwelcoming with his tone and expressions. We requested to sit on a 4-person table in a nicer corner of the empty restaurant, which he denied in an unfriendly manner, since we are 1 couple. Despite this, the service was decent, and our waiter turned things around with his friendliness and helpfulness. We ordered a steak and pork ribs; the steak was American Angus beef, available in only 500 g or 1 Kg servings. Opting for the lesser, I was a bit surprised by the fat covering more than half of it, though the flavor was undeniably delicious. The pork ribs were nothing short of delicious, leaving us with no complaints. Instead of fries, which the place didn't offer, we tried the homemade chips (which were just okay and reminded us of a bag of chips, so not recommended) and roasted potatoes, which were perfect. The meal was nicely complemented by a delicious red wine from Tuscany. I'd suggest giving this place a try only if you're nearby, although I might skip the...
