Elio — Restaurant in Rome

Booked dinner on first of January. The restaurant is part of the hotel complex. The coziness and overall atmosphere is awesome as there are fireplaces and muted colors all around. Restaurant was nearly empty but it was nicely decorated. We were served by a very bitchy waitress. I say this because I asked if they serve negroni and she fussed on my question and in a very rude voice and manner told me "of course what do you think"?... I was really taken back by this and would advise the management to hire more professional people, this was embracing to witness. Luckily another waiter was managing our table later and was nice. We ordered a plate with vegetables with dips and bagels with egg salad for starters and it was excellent. My husband ordered non alcoholic beer and the main dish - tacos for 2. The tacos were underwhelming, the taco shells were fresh and hot but everything inside was a miss. Some of the ingredients were ok on their own but together they didn't match well. The pulled pork was weird because it was sweet and spicy in the wrong way. We finished with that and went for dessert. I ordered a orange cake and it was ok but nothing too exiting. Dined here for breakfast since it was included with our hotel stay at the Hoxton. Extremely disappointed with how inattentive the wait staff were. I made eye contact with several staff thinking that they would come take our order but they instead walked away and served other customers who were seated after us. Waited about 20 minutes until I went to flag someone down to take our order which I should not have to do.

When we finally got our takeout bag we noticed that one of our orders was missed. We only got 1 of 2 avocado toasts that we ordered. We did not have to time go back and reorder so we just left in...

We have been staying at The Hoxton for the last 4 days and spent time in the bar every evening, breakfast every day and this evening the restaurant. All staff are fantastic, so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. I would like to give a special thanks to Federico, Ioana, Fabrizio & Francesca. Dinner tonight was excellent, we ate inside, the dining area is designed very well.
