We had a quick one night stay at Villa del Sole Siena. The room was large and comfortable. Clean. The Air Conditioner worked. We were pleased with the hotel.
We did not have a car so we walked everywhere. All of the main city sights were within a few minutes walk. The hotel was in the Elephant area of the city, with elephant flags flying everywhere and people so excited about the upcoming Paleo horserace. The one afternoon we were in the city we watched two young men practicing their drumming for the upcoming procession.
The hotel made reservations for us at restaurant Campo Cedro, a place we picked out but the hotel was not familiar with. The restaurant was fantastic. One of the best dinners we have ever had. We are very appreciative for the hotel doing this as the restaurant only has a few tables and the restaurant was otherwise full turning away several groups who arrived to eat but had no reservations.
The next morning we left without time to have breakfast. The spread looked fantastic. The owner worked hard to find us a taxi as the Paleo was about to start and nobody was working...

Our experience at this hotel was fantastic from the very beginning. Communication before our arrival was excellent, ensuring a smooth start to our trip. Upon arrival, we were delighted to be surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a suite! The room itself, while simply decorated, was beautiful and impeccably clean. Breakfast was a delicious daily affair, offering a fresh and plentiful selection.
The staff truly made this hotel exceptional. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. A small detail that speaks volumes - they not only offered valet parking but also retrieved our car and brought it back to the front upon check-out, saving us valuable time.
The location couldn't have been better. We enjoyed idyllic views and the convenience of being just a short 10-minute walk from the bustling main square. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a wonderful...
Read moreI cannot recommend the Villa del Sole Siena more highly. My wife and I stayed here while I attended a conference at the nearby Accademia Musicale Siena. The breakfast was cute, and featured a variety of whatever you'd want to eat and drink in the morning. The room was super comfortable, very clean, with a newly renovated bathroom. Our hosts were super graceful and welcoming, and were flexible and gracious when we had questions (e.g., the best way to commute straight to Rome) and requests (e.g., I needed an iron). We were here in the "off season" (early December); do try and visit then, Siena was way less packed than usual, and there's a cute Christmas market in the Piazza Del Campo. Siena is a magical place, and Villa del Sole right in its heart—only a three-minute walk to the Piazza. Oh, and we stayed in a room with a view, and it was...
