An Italian Dream!
As we arrived (don’t forget to ring the bell on the front door) we were warmly welcomed by the host Marina (who also lives in the house with her daughter, dog and cat, which makes the place feel like home).
First of all she showed us the breakfast-area + our room and told us a lot about the house + how she renovated it (were she outdid herself! The rooms have the perfect mix of old and new furniture and the bathrooms are so beautiful!). Marina also gave us her number if we had more questions or needed recommendations for things to do in Tremezzo!
The next day we woke up and the whole house smelled like coffee and fried eggs (literally)! As we went downstairs to the breakfast-area Marina and her daughter greeted us with a smile and showed us our table + brought coffee. Read moreWe loved our stay at Casa Lumaca!! In finding a stay in Lake Como, our goal was to get off the beaten path a little and get to a less touristy spot & stay at a charming place.. that’s exactly what we got! I found Casa Lumaca through google searches and just cannot recommend it enough! Marina was lovely, so responsive and helpful. A perfect bed and breakfast experience. The breakfast was WONDERFUL too!! Great coffee, fruit, ambiance, and our personal fav: Marinas banana pancakes. Casa Lumaca itself is so historic and Marinas done a fantastic job keeping the charm and history alive. We stayed at 6 different places over our travels in Italy and have decided that the beds and pillows at Casa Lumaca was the most comfortable too:) Will 100% stay there again if we travel back to Tremezzo.. which I hope we do! Some other recs in the area if anyone is curious: a rustic dinner at La Fagurida, hiking trail to Monte Grona, dinner at Crotto dei Platani, drinks at Hotel Tremezzo’s T Bar, Villa Carlotta, rent a boat from Cadenazzi. For reference, we stayed here in mid...
