We stayed at a few hotels in Italy, but this one was my favorite. The location is amazing, just past the bridge of sighs right behind St Mark's Basilica, very close to the Rialto bridge, the Danieli hotel, and Piazza San Marco. We had the best room with a little balcony filled with flowers and overlooking the canal below. Below our room on the second floor was the breakfast/bar area with a larger balcony that had tables and chairs. Below that at the canal dock was a lovely garden and sitting area to hang out at. Also on the 4th floor was a sun terrace with loungers where you could relax and have a higher up view. The room was large and spacious, very comfortable. The hotel was charming, and clean, the staff were so nice and extremely helpful. They bailed us out because my elderly mother just could not walk much and after 2 days of being unable to get a private boat that could pick us up from the hotel dock and waking up to my mom giving up on her dreams of seeing Venice and going to Murano they were able to arrange for one for us in only a few minutes, not only that but a gorgeous boat that had a platform that lifted up and down so my mom didn't have to try to navigate the stairs, who took us to Murano & Burano as well as through the grand canal. We got directly into a glass factory in Murano and made all my moms lifelong dreams of Venice come true. The breakfast was so good, even including prosecco for mimosas, the bar in the evening serviced both the breakfast/bar room as well as the garden down below which was such a great spot to hang out in the evening. We made so many friends from all over the world at this hotel. There was a very good restaurant just a couple doors down from the hotel that we went to twice and my mom said she had died and gone to heaven. My heart was filled with so much happiness. I love this hotel and Venice. Thank you a...

We had two bookings at this hotel. As we were on the ride to the airport to travel to Europe, we got into an accident as passengers with body injuries and ended up going to emergency room at a hospital in the country where we had our connecting flight. Our entire trip had to be canceled due to medical conditions and long term treatments despite all the arrangements and plans for 18 months and we had to return home with all the difficulties and true severe pain along with wheelchair. We informed the hotel 8 days prior to check-in date and literately begged them to help us with this situation as an exception. We provided hospital proofs and doctors letters. The hotel and its manager is absolutely heartless and stubborn whatsoever. They refrained not only from refunding but also refrained from any sort of vouchers, discounts or credits for future use. In fact, they called the request extortion and a crime!! Isn’t that totally ridiculous?! They took our money and yet sold our rooms to others and made double money during the very high season in Italy.
This is absolutely the very worst customer service and hotel experience and this comes from someone who is a frequent traveler! What a disgusting and unprofessional customer service, indeed!!!!! By the way, this hotel removed my reviews from major travel websites.
Please think twice before booking...

Rather than refuting my review, management should focus on improving cleanliness and the overall state of the property.
Palace? Should simply be called Donà Place. The lack of cleanliness and attention to detail in this hotel is glaring. We checked in and found that the shower door in our room was coming off, there were urine stains on the toilet seat, dirt and grime on the light switches, and gunk/food on the tv remote control. We were thankful that they were willing to change our room, but the new one was no better. Mold in the bathroom, pubic hairs in the corner of the bathroom, and dust and dirt. As you can see clearly from the pictures, this is not new dirt or grime, rather, a filth that has been caked in and accumulated over years of not cleaning properly. I’m not sure why this place has such good ratings. We gave one star because the breakfast was nicely done and the service staff at breakfast was quite attentive. Wasted money on this hotel for our three nights in Venice....
