Beppino — Restaurant in Venice

DO NOT GO HERE. Tourist trap, rude staff, not Italian, no passion for food whatsoever, clearly a money grabbing place near the busy area. There’s so many other wonderful eateries in Venice, this is not what you want to experience. We were walking past and tired after a morning of walking around, the guy at the door said they have a relaxed terrace out the back, so we we went with it, fyi it’s not great at all. Sat down, ordered two Aperol and a pizza to share, told abruptly “not possible, this is for one person only”, we weren’t that hungry and were only eating to be courteous tbh. I explained that’s all we wanted between two of us and they just straight said not possible, if you don’t want anything else we can’t serve you. So I stood up, loudly said what I thought of the manners and lack of service and left. Btw, at this point it was 1pm earlier today, the place was half empty, asking people to come in like us from the front. We thankfully stumbled on 1000 gourmet around the corner, waited 15 mins for a table, best pizza you’ll ever eat, I’d wait an hour to get that service and that level of food rather than this dump. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Italian restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality, making us feel like part of the family. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfectly reflecting the charm of Italy.

The food was absolutely amazing! Each dish was crafted with care and full of flavor. The grilled fresh fish was perfectly cooked, with a delicate taste and aroma, while the mussels were incredibly delicious, rich and flavorful. The wine selection was also excellent, with a variety of Italian wines that complemented each dish perfectly.

A special mention goes to our server, Muso. His attentiveness, professionalism, and knowledge of the menu truly enhanced our dining experience. He offered great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed, all while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor. Such excellent service is rare, and Muso definitely made our evening special.

We looked at the menu from the street and they pulled us into the restaurant to order something. We decided on a pizza that was 11€. Went to use the washroom after paying by card, and a guest who had just finished their food asked us if we were just getting there or leaving and we said we just got there and ordered something to go. He told us that the food was terrible and not to go there. They got pasta and steak dishes and said they were terrible and to get our money back if possible. We went back downstairs and asked for a refund saying we had to go and they refused because we weren’t sat at a table and dining in. In all the places I’ve worked with a POS terminal, a refund is possible. We asked multiple times and they kept denying our request.
