Vecchia Murano V.M. srl — Local services in Venice

WARNING! Unethical business practices! We visited Vecchia Murano at the end of July and purchased a very expensive vase. The salesman (Andron C.) went through seemingly elaborate steps of recording the vase's unique identification number and copied this information to our receipt, which gave me the impression that there was a uniqueness to the glass work we had had purchased. Fortunately for me, I took a picture of the vase we bought because when examining the one we received (it was shipped to the US), it became apparent that the vase had been swapped for another similar vase. Additionally, their "signature of authenticity" is a sticker that is not unique in any way and could be applied to glass purchased from Walmart if they chose to do so.

When I emailed asking for an explanation, they asked for pictures, which I provided. Since then, I have received no response despite repeated attempts to get updates. Please consider yourself warned. I would recommend purchasing from a seller that can guarantee authenticity of the art they sell and would NEVER try to con one of...

This place does not know how to treat tourists. The website talks about glass demonstration, but does not say it is for group only. We woke up early in the morning and walked all the way there, to a place that is not easy to find because the address in the website sent us to a back door that we could not access, to be told by a very rude and rough man that the demonstration is for group only. He did not try to explain to us how we could join a group or tried to welcome us, he only treated us badly. We only wanted to see a demonstration about the beautiful things that many artists do in the area, and maybe buy something, but we will never go back...

After visiting the glass factory and being amazed by all the beautiful pieces, we decided to buy a 6 piece set of lavender wine glasses and a decanter. They offered to ship it back to the States for us, and we agreed. 3-4 weeks later the shipment arrived as promised, but was in the completely wrong color. After calling and emailing the contact information on our receipt multiple times, we did not heard back from the shop.
