Ignore any of the poor reviews, they are all from a competing business trying to destroy their trade and totally unjustified - This little pasta place is by far the best value we found in Venice city at just average €6.50 for the meal, portion size was perfect and there is nothing better than pasta prepared on premise and then cooked to order. Unbeatable - so much so we went back to have a different pasta dish each later which was just as good as the first. The owner was there and happy to chat, staff were friendly, service was fast (they were very busy at the time too). There is a trick to getting pasta right - a combination of PROPERLY made pasta cooked to the right point, combined with the right amount of sauce and seasoned properly. I can't count the number of places I have eaten that only manage 2 or 3 out of the four. To all those who are trying to get their pasta dishes right....go here. Pasta & Pasta has it right. If they were around the corner from me I would never cook pasta at home....and that's saying something coming from an ex-Chef. Support the little guy, visit Pasta & Pasta you will not regret it I promise. When you do, leave a good review! They deserve all the business they get and a lot more, and dirty tricks from lessor competitors aren't going to stop...
Read moreWent on a friday and it was fairly busy, I assume people get scared away but the line in Dxx xxro and come here as a substitute.
The were 2 people working the kitchen and one person taking orders for the long but steadily moving line, understands english so ordering was no problem. We went with a bacon pomodoro linguine and a frutti di mare radiatori (seafood pasta), paid 50cents more for extra cheese.
First thing I noticed with the food was that they gave us a big scoop of cheese (I understand italians don't usually put cheese on pastas but we are tourists so there you have it), the pasta was al dante, probably the best textured and most perfectly cooked pasta i've had in the entire trip, in the same bowl you have cuttlefish, clams, and a few prawns, all fresh, sweet in umami and generously portioned. Both the pastas we had were seasoned well, which I really appreciate considering the high volume of customers in the shop during peak lunch period.
I have also done a review for the famous spot nearby, this is so much more underrated and they don't chase you and beg you for a 5 star review after some mediocre food.
Overall: amazing food, much cheaper option, wide range of pasta dishes, bigger shop so you don't need to wait outside with a million people passing by...
Read moreThe pasta was quite tasty, the portions may have looked a bit small, but you can easily get full by it. Pasta is very fresh, because they make ir right after you order it, and you can even watch how they are making your pasta. There is a daily special, which is a little cheaper than if you take the same thing, but without calling it a daily special. There is an opportunity to choose what type of pasta you want if you don't take the daily special. There are also toppings that you want to put on the pasta, which are up to 1 euro in addition to the price. For the pasta that is in the photograph, 7.5 + 0.5 for extra cheese was paid. The service was very smooth and relatively fast. You just have to take into account that they give you takeaway food and that in Venice there are some problems with finding a place to eat, especially during the hot summer hours. But in the cafe itself there is a table available where you can stand, but you have to know that there is quite a bit of space and that it may not be the best choice if you go during the most...
