The Palazzo Keller is really not difficult to find once you get your bearings. It’s a quick 10 minute ride from the train station, and about 3 minutes walking from the main docks. This is also the same location where you will pick up your airport taxi leaving.
This can be described as a boutique hotel, and it is in the perfect location for relaxing, and seeing the sights.
A large courtyard opens into the square and you will see many restaurants no less than a minute walk from the hotel doors. The lobby is small, and floors buffed to a high shine, light fixtures with dim bulbs enhance the artistic decor that drapes the walls and high ceilings!
The bedroom is lovely, you will sleep like a pregnant woman before her final trimester, deep comfortable sleep. You are missing nothing except a bathtub and do you really need one? You have a toilet, bidet, a shower with a seat if you need to rest, scorching hot water (that's how I like it) and good water pressure.
A full breakfast is included with your room. Champagne is on the table, feel free to make yourself a mimosa with the orange or grapefruit juice, both were quite nice. You will need to request hot water for tea, and order up your favorite espresso, cappuccino or americano because they are all made fresh, if you need decaf, packets are on the table with the tea, or simply ask if needed.
When traveling to Italy, I already knew that rooms would be smaller, that is the norm, so I didn’t mind paying a higher price for that extra space and comfort in a newly renovated hotel!
What can I say, I have no complaints, my only wish was that I had a full day to just lounge around so that I could really enjoy all of the amenities that were included. The lack of a restaurant for full meals isn’t an inconvenience, you walk out the doors and no more than 20 steps lead you to several dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Schedule a Water Taxi to the airport 24 hrs in advance, you can do this right from your hotel concierge. They will also get the phone number of the driver, and call in the morning to make sure they are on time at the docks.
You are close enough but a bit secluded from the noise and traffic of tourists. I definitely plan to visit Venice in the future, and I would be excited to spend my money at the Palazzo Keller once...
Read moreMy daughter and I stayed at the Keller in March of 23,shortly after it reopened. The night we arrived it was raining,we were tired and hungry from traveling, and we arrived late, about 10 p.m. We were immediately met by Kellers staff. They immediately took our bags and invited us to eat in the bar while they put the finishing touches on our room. Everyone was kind, compationate, professional, accommodating, understanding and most of all comforting. It felt like we were home. We could not have asked for more or a better first impression. Our second impression was absolute awe ! The opulence of the decor was breath taken but not over done. You feel as though you have been transported back in time to another era. As we made our way to the bar for dinner we noticed how immaculate the hotel was. Let me add that there is no full dinner service, but you can order something, which was extremely good and so was the service. The barman was very accommodating, friendly, professional and engaged in light conversation with us. After eating we made our way to our room. Our room was immaculate, the window was opened, as it was a bit warm. Our bags were placed in the room by the table. As we looked around we discovered we had a changing room!! And our window over looked the court yard in the front that gave us a very palatial view. The location of the Keller is far enough from the busy venician streets but right around the corner from everything you might need or want!! You can still hear the buskers sing and the din of business being carried on. This impressive hotel called the Keller is about 10 to 15 minutes from San Marcos Square, depending on how fast you walk. So if you are looking for an amazing stay at an opulent hotel that transports you back in time to the old world with all the modern amenities and very fair rates with everything you could possibly need or want within 5 minutes, the HOTEL PALAZZO KELLER MUST BE YOUR CHOICE !!! We extended our stay 2 times while we were there. We started as clients and...
Read moreOverall it was a positive experience. On previous visits (3) to Venice we’ve always stayed at The Bauer but couldn’t this time as it’s closed for renovations. The staff at Palazzo Keller are exceptional and the property is beautiful, tucked away in a quiet street but still very close to St Marks Square and the Rialto Bridge. It’s also only a few minutes (less than 5) walk from the San Angelo water bus stop. The room was spacious with a good size bed and air conditioning, and the bathroom was very well fitted to a high quality standard and with a huge double shower. Sadly however there was a disabled pull down chair in one part of the shower which ruined it a little and wasn’t necessary for us. Breakfast had a reasonable choice of food from a buffet. The breakfast room is stunning with its decor and overall the property has been beautifully renovated. The main criticisms I have is that for a luxury hotel and a junior “suite” room there was no full length mirror in the room! I travel extensively and I’ve never stayed in a room before that doesn’t have one. There was a full length mirror outside the room in a shared hallway but that’s not much good for getting dressed. The junior suite we were given on the ground floor was also quite blandly decorated compared to the pictures on the website of the junior suites showcased online. It looked out directly onto a same level courtyard area with tables for guests to sit and have drinks so we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy reasons. Reading other reviews, the ground floor seems to be where they put what they consider to be their least desirable guests, I really do hope that isn’t true? Sadly, as a travel photographer, I wasn’t happy to showcase our room at this property on social media as it didn’t live up to expectations aesthetically or where it was located within...
