Guys, when I say THIS is my absolute favorite hotel of all the hotels I've stayed out in the world...just trust me. It's an incredible gem of charm, relaxation, location and luxury. My only regret is that we were only there for less than 12 hours. ||Did I mention that this hotel is inside the Juliet courtyard? As in, the Romeo and Juliet courtyard? Because it is. And you, as a registered guest, can get exclusive access to said courtyard, after it's been closed to the public and locked up at night. When you check in, they give you a key to the gate and instructions to remember to lock up behind yourself when you leave.||We showed up very late the night we checked in, but the hotel staff was prepared for our arrival. They had reached out prior to us getting to Verona and coordinated how we'd contact the staff to be let in. When we arrived at the gate, she was waiting to let us in. Let me tell you, we felt a little like rock stars being ushered into the locked gate while the others stood around, reaching their arms in past the bars to get a picture of the Juliet statue in the background.||You get a code to enter the building, and in the day, the door is blocked off by a red velvet rope. There are only 16 rooms in the entire building, and they're all suites. Like seriously, I could have lived in this room if they had let me. Once checked in, we took the lift to the fourth floor and - after a moment of American panic when the lift stopped but the doors did not open (for other American travelers, give a good push to the wall in front of you to exit.)||The room...le sigh. That room, y'all. Gorgeously appointed, large and comfortable. We had a view of the road below us from one side and the rooftops around us from the bathroom. The bed was so incredibly comfortable, I think I had the best night's sleep in that bed. The living space had a bench under the window, a large closet and a small table - at which I sat to compose my own letter to Juliet.||The bathroom was also large and well-appointed, though the shower did perplex me initially, and you do have to step high to get in and out. The water pressure was soothing and there was space to spread out for the day.||We were able to store our bag at the hotel while we went on our wine tour. They held the bag, kept our key code active and then answered our questions all after we'd already checked out. They even gave me an envelope so I could "post" my letter to Juliet before leaving.||I would stay here again, without even thinking about it. The location cannot be beat, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the staff is top-notch....
Read moreI cannot disagree more with the glowing reviews I have read about this hotel. Battling through noisy crowds queuing to get to see the famous balcony, luggng suitcases over the cobbles, unable to find the door to the hotel tucked away in a corner of the courtyard, unable for some time to get anyone to come to the door to let us in was not the "welcome" we expected. And the noise from bellow is relentless . We had our own balcony looking over the courtyard but couldn't enjoy it because it was so noisy and because there was no privacy. Yes the courtyard is closd to the public at night and you are givine a key to unlock the gates to get out but there are always people clammering to get in and we felt a little threatened by this. Our room was large and modern but there were no hooks to hang anything in the bathrom, no drawers and very little space in the wardrobe - no shelves to speak of. Not a comfortable room. This hotel has no dining room nor breafast facilities. we were given vouchers for breakfast at a cafe in the busiest most touristy square in the city - the breakfasts were not very good - a basic fruit salad, a dry croisssant, an orange juice and a cup of tea - not what we expect of a 4 star hotel - in the sort of cafe we wouldn't normally go to. This hotel has no facilites other than bedrooms - there is no proper reception area, just the office which the staff work in and more importantly no toilet other the ones in bedrooms. Having left our luggage at the hotel on the last day of our stay we returned mid afternoon to collect our suitcases and hopefully freshen up before heading to the airport. My husband needed to change his clothes from those he had been wearing for sightseeing in the very hot weather. We were told there was nowhere we could use - we said we needed to use the bathroom urgently and a member of staff took us down to the basment, through a storage area, to the staff toilet. This wasn't particularly pleasant, especially as we were "chaperoned". We would describe this establishment and a bed and breakfast without the breakfast. It certain;y isn't our idea of a 4 * hotel. And it is not good...
Read moreI have just returned from Verona and spent four nights at this absolute hidden gem of a hotel!|If you are looking to stay in Verona I HIGHLY recommend staying at this hotel.|Firstly the location is just the best, it is actually within the courtyard of Juliet’s house which means once the gates are shut to the public at 7pm you have exclusive use of the courtyard as you have a key which gets you in and out from the shops, restaurants, bars and sights of Verona which are literally on you door step.||I stayed in Room 25 which is a double aspect deluxe room with jacuzzi and balcony that looks straight across to Juliets house, the famous balcony and courtyard with a statue of Juliette. This room was absolutely fabulous,, it was large, bright and airy, tastefully decorated and had an addiitional side view of another courtyard. The bathroom was large with a super deep jacuzzi. The fridge in the room was fully stocked as was a drawer filled with tea, coffee and all sorts of snacks- all complimentary. In the mornings I loved to sit on the balcony with a coffee before the gates opened to the public and in the evenings with a glass of Prosecco just taking in the peace of the empty courtyard. Room 35 is an identical room to this one directly below.||Francesca and her staff give you a lovely warm welcome and go out of their way to accommodate you, they are extremely helpful as well when it comes to suggesting places to visit and things to do.|I cannot fault the service in any way whatsoever, everything about my stay was memorable and perfect||I notice a lot of photos that show are very old the hotel has been refurbished and I was lucky to be shown other rooms and I can assure you the rooms I saw were stunning||I absolutely loved my room 25 which was a deluxe with jacuzzi and balcony |Room 35 is identical below with a fabulous view |It was truly memorable ||At the time I was there the suite was being refurbished but that is lovely double aspect again with view over the house, famous balcony and statue ||Push the boat out and spend a bit more and my recommendation is Room 25 or 35 |Hope the...
