This is a superb hotel. Can’t believe how lucky we are to be staying here this week. The hotel is right in the heart of the historic quarter of Verona, just a stone’s throw from Piazza Erbe, Lombardi Tower, Juliet’s balcony, and Piazza dei Signori with their breathtaking architecture, good restaurants, and evening entertainment. The hotel is beautifully decorated with lovely rooms and excellent air conditioning. All of the hotel staff are so friendly, helpful, smiling and welcoming. Adele welcomes us to breakfast every day with such warmth and a smile like a sunbeam. Adele is an incredible and joyful ambassador for Hotel Mazzanti. The buffet breakfast is first class. A big selection of delicious hot and cold food, good coffee, fruit juices, and great cappuccino. I particularly enjoyed the smoked crispy pancetta slices with scrambled eggs and cannellini beans in passata. We were blown away by the baked pears with honey, nuts, and cinnamon which Adele had cooked herself. Such care, love, and attention to detail. Considering that the hotel is so central, it is quiet and peaceful. A haven of tranquility where it is easy to rest or sleep. There are comfortable lounge areas next to the 24-hour reception. A perfect hotel to discover so many historical gems and wonderful restaurants, wine bars & cafes in the beautiful city of Verona. It’s also a short journey to Lake Garda by taking the train from Verona PN station to Pescheria. We had no idea our holiday would be so good. I can thoroughly recommend Verona as a destination and this hotel as the perfect place to stay. Thank you -...
Read moreEveryone else should stay away from this charming, small hotel because we want to keep this secret for ourselves.||||The location is fantastic and convenient, the nearby restaurants range from casual and inexpensive to upscale traditional to well-priced modern Italian fare, and the choices for a gelato after dinner can't be beat.|||| The rooms are small but well sized, with very clean and modern bathrooms and fantastic hot water for showers. Wi-fi is fast and reliable. The bed was very comfortable (but my husband thought that the blanket could have been longer!). And blissfully, you never hear a bit of noise from the other rooms, very little from the hallway, and pretty much none from the nearby square outside (as long as you have the windows closed).||||The only "down side" is that, if you're on a longer trip and have a lot of wardrobe with you, there aren't many drawers to unpack into. And there's no laundry service associated with the hotel. There are two places you can drop things off, nearby in the city-center neighborhood, or the staff can give you directions to a laundromat that's about a 20 minute walk away (and SUPER easy to use once you find the languages option buttons on the payment machine).||||Also, be aware that there are not taxis "roaming" for passengers in this area due to it being a pedestrian district, so if you need a cab the desk staff can call one for you or you'll learn how to call for one yourself.||||The included breakfast is varied, fresh, and delicious, and the staff is...
Read moreThe room was modern with the style that Italy is famous for. The room was very small with no where to comfortably put luggage.
The main issue I have with my experience is that I put 3 euros on my table on the second day of my stay to use the next day to pay for the water I used from the mini fridge. When I returned to my room after the house cleaners had been there the money had been taken. I assume it was taken for the water but no. When I when to check out the next day the receptionist said I have to pay for the water. I explain above and she just says if you don’t pay for it at this counter it is not paid for. She didn’t understand what I meant and went to my room and came down and said the money isn’t there. I KNOW that’s the problem.
It’s assumed that cleaners don’t take your belongings from your room. If it had been a larger amount of money left on the table like $100 am I to assume that the cleaners will take it and think it’s for them? If a note isn’t left to state tip why would you think it’s for you?
Overall this left a gross feeling of my privacy being invaded and like I should check all of my valuables are still with me.
Also the walls to the hallway are paper thin I could hear the maids very clearly throughout the...
